Great excursion from Bergen
Aug 2019 • Solo
A great way to spend a day when you’re visiting Bergen - get out on the water and enjoy kayaking with this great group of people. Experienced guides, very professional, good kayaks, beautiful scenery and lots of fun. Pick up and drop off from the centre of Bergen. Excellent value for money

Brilliant fun!

Fantastic trip and a great way to see the coastline when staying in Bergen. We had a dry sunny day in August which made it all the more pleasant. Super convenient if you’re staying in Bergen, the van picked us up by the harbour and brought us to the Go Paddling base for a short safety briefing and to get changed.

The kit (wetsuits/, life vests, booties, splash skirt) was in great condition and felt brand new. Dry bags are provided so that you can take your camera/phone and any other belongings. They also have dry suits for colder days. After changing we took a 5 minute walk down to the beach where we collected the kayaks. There were doubles and singles to choose from depending on preference. Our guide was enthusiastic and super informative. We paddled for approx 3 hours, stoping for a quick lunch (a ham, cheese and vegetable wrap and the most delicious local apple juice) and then set off for home. Make sure to inform the company in advance if you are vegetarian.

The van then dropped us back to the harbour. The drive is about 45 minutes each way. I highly recommend this trip, you won’t regret it!

Great tour with Rinke on a beautiful day. While sea kayaking can seem daunting at first, she made sure everyone was comfortable and we all had a great time. And: no one flipped... ;)

Great Tour
Aug 2019 • Friends
We had a great time touring the area up close on the kayaks! The bus picked us up right in Bergen and was a beautiful ride to Herdla. When we got there we were greeted with coffee and tea as well as an extremely welcoming staff. All the equipment was very clean, safe and up to date. The guide was very knowledgeable and made the trip extremely entertaining. The sights were beautiful and unreal. Everywhere we paddled was breathtaking. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone in the area.
Thanks for a great afternoon gonepaddling!

Great trip in beautiful area
Jul 2019 • Family
We booked this trip from UK before going the Bergen. There was a mix up with the time for departure so we were an hour early - same thing happened for couple from US and Australia. Once sorted it all ran smoothly, great equipment and Neils and Jan were great guides. Just right level of activity. Round small islands and bays, then lunch and a quick history lesson on one of the islands. Lovely weather and good company. Perfect to keep the teenagers (both young and old) happy

Beautiful environment but too short!
Jul 2019 • Couples
Activity was not so well organize. We spent a lot of time in transport organisation, lunch before going kayaking.. Then the kayak tour was really too short! One of the guide spoke too much and didn’t let us appreciate the calm of the environment.

Great experience
The tour was a recommendation from the tourist info in Bergen. Booking online worked without problems. We were picked up with a minibus from Bergen and driven to Herdla (~45min, WiFi on board!). Rinke was a very friendly and considerate guide. After handing out the equipment (incl life jacket, dry bags and water shoes), she explained how to handle the kayaks. During the tour she gave "exploring tasks" to the more experienced participants but at the same time looked after the newbies lagging behind. The tour itself was around some small uninhabited islands around Herdla. After about half the trip we landed in a small bay and had a lunch snack provided by Rinke (a wrap and a bottle of water each). Also Rinke brought a waterproof camera and took lots of pictures during the trip which she sent us later per email. All in all it was a very enjoyable trip - full recommendation!

Great Trip & Great Tour Guide
May 2019 • Family
My wife, daughter, and I took the Kayak Fjord tour in May 2019. Our guide was Folkwin - a very engaged, enthusiastic, and informative trip leader. The trip was somewhat more strenuous than our usual lake kayaking trips, but not overly so. Experiencing the fjords (water, flora, fauna, etc.) was enjoyable experience. At one point, I leaned too far while taking a turn and upended myself into the water. Luckily (1) we were wearing dry suits, so the cold water didn't wasn't a problem and (2) we had Folkwin who patiently guided me on how to re-enter a Kayak from the water. What could have been a tenuous situation turned into a valuable lesson. Overall, this was a great trip that I highly recommend if you're in Bergen.

The bus to convey us to the venue arrived on time and the driver was friendly, helpful and pointed out picturesque views. Upon arrival, we had a light snack (chocolate bars, hot chocolate and I think tea )then an extremely informative briefing on the activity. We geared up (there was enough for everyone) and we set out to kayak. We had an amazing time

Folkwin and the lady he had with him were watchful, interesting and supportive. He also has a sense of humor and was kind enough to take several pictures of us kayaking which is always appreciated. The lunch provided was nice as well.

As we got back to base we has snacks and a really delightful session bonding with the rest of team.
