Small-Group Oslo Bike Tour: City Highlights
With more than 1,000 years of history, there is a lot to see in Oslo. Make the most of your time in Norway's capital by cycling through the city streets on a bike tour, a great sightseeing option for travelers with limited time. With a guide and in a small group of no more than 15, you'll explore different Oslo neighborhoods while learning about the culture and history of the city.
What to Expect
Meet your guide and travel companions in central Oslo and, after a short safety briefing, pick out your bicycle and climb aboard. Pedal down Karl Johans gate, Oslo's main city street, past the yellow-brick parliament building (Storting) and 19th-century National Theatre before weaving your way down old cobblestoned streets toward the old shipyards of Aker Bygge to admire the harbor views.

Continuing onward, you'll cruise past neoclassical buildings with vibrantly decorated facades before coming across the Renaissance fortress of Akershus Castle. Enjoy a refreshing drink here (at own expense) before carrying on toward the Royal Palace, the official residence of Norway's king. Next, take a look at the intricate murals inside Oslo City Hall, as well as the room in which the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded each year.

After pedaling to Frognerparken, you have some free time to take in the sights and leisurely vibe of Oslo's biggest public park, loved by locals, and to check out the numerous open-air sculptures by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland.

Refreshed, you'll then pedal back to your original departure point in central Oslo where your tour ends.

I have only good things to say about this tour. Shafiq’s approach made the journey more fun and it encouraged interaction and conversations among the people on the tour. Afterwards, I felt like I had a good understanding of the city’s main highlights, quick facts...More

Good overview of city, fun tour with knowledgeable host/guide

Very good basic bicycle tour and city overview with friendly knowledgeable local host, reasonably priced. Viking Biking (great name) was easy to find, the bikes in good shape, helmets available of course. We toured on a Sunday, so traffic was no issue, but drivers seem...More
