      Great experience.
Our guide, Leah, was fantastic. She had a lot of tips to make the experience more enjoyable. We highly recommend this if you are inexperienced xcountry skiers like us.

      Ski rentals
Rented cross country skis here for 24h, so we could go at our own schedule. They were helpful in picking out the skis and making recommendations on routes. No issues at all with the returns, everything went smoothly. Professional and courteous staff, would gladly use again if in Tromsø.

A must-do activity for nature lovers
We had the best tour with the best guide Mikkel who inspired us with his love and enthusiasm for nature and the activity. We learned a lot during a marvellous hike in pure nature and the most stunning views. Definitely will tour with you again or try all other offers of the company next time!

      Nice way to begin cross-country
Marie was a wonderful teacher: patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The area where we did the activity was groomed for it, and very easy to get used to. Once we got used skiing in the flat area, we went to a couple of small slopes to practice breaking. We got also a small break in a beautiful area by a lake and enjoyed some hot tea and a Norwegian snack.

      Wonderful experience
I had a wonderful experience with Tromsø outdoor and their guided snowshoe hill hike. It was supposed to be a hiking experience on Kvaløya but unfortunately the weather forecast wasn't good and therefore our guide took us to another location. I had a blast! Cannot recommend this highly enough.

      Snowshoe hike on Kvaloya
We really enjoyed our trek with Mikkel and Tromso Outdoor. My family of four did the snowshoe hike and it was a truly wonderful experience. We had beautiful weather and found the guide to be really knowledgeable, experienced and passionate. The hike was as described but the views were more wonderful then we could have imagined. Thank you Mikkel for a wonderful day we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tromso and will definitely be back to experience more.

      Excellent lesson.
Fabulous lesson, lots of fun. Really well taught so that by the end we felt we knew enough to be able to go out and give it a go on our own.

Highly recommend to begin learning how to ski!
Really Great for beginners!! After that lesson and free time to practice what we’ve learned I was sweating and felt like I just did a workout. Was great. Kudos to Tomi for being so patient, the group that i was with was a family who was quite difficult to deal with but Tomi taught them and handled them well. Highly recommend to experience, and for sure will try skiing again. We also had some good hot grape juice wine? And pastries in between.

Excellent experience run by a really friendly and caring group
Had a wonderful afternoon fatbiking with Mikel who was super patient and considerate. He got us started on the bikes, took us on to a lake to experience loose snow. Took us to the ski jumps which we climbed to sit and have a snack. He told us lots about things in Tromso on the frequent breaks necessary for me to catch my breath. Thank you Mikel. Before the tour the folk in the shop were lovely allowing us to leave our luggage in their store while we went away for lunch and then during the tour. They seen to be a really helpful, caring bunch of people.

      Amazing experience!
Highly recommended! We were very unlucky with weather, making for high avalanche risk at the intended hike location. But the Tromsø Outdoor team had a good backup hike taking us up smaller, less treacherous inclines, and around a lake. We are fit and healthy, and found the hike easy, but the views and our guide, Mikkel, made the whole experience totally worth it :)

      Great fun in the snow
Loved our guided beginners cross country ski trip with Leucas - everything was so well organised, easy to get our kit from the shop in Tromso, a short drive to the Cross country ski area and then excellent instruction. We were able to get going skiing and off through the forest, a memorable experience! Thanks to our great guide

      Wonderful Day
Lovely experience! Mikail was a great instructor and showed us the basics of cross-country skiing and allowed us later to go at a pace that suited us, either staying with the group and going slower or challenging ourself and going ahead. The day was beautiful for it and the location was lovely! Would highly recommend the experience. Tromso Outdoor also gave us a lovely postcard of the Northern Lights as a thank you, which was a sweet touch.

Wonderful snowshoe trip led by Lukas thru' the forest to some amazing clear views of the city at night. Finished up by a warm fire w/ some delicious warm beverage and local snack. Added treat of trying some downhill plastic sledding finished this recommended activity. Thank you Lukas and Tromso Outdoor!

This was very enjoyable. After a short drive in a van we got to what looked like a big city park. We had rented the boots they offered because we wanted to make sure our feet were warm enough and they were. We snow shoed through the woods at night. Our guide gave us headlamps to see and it was just wonderful. Not too strenous but still a little hilly. We stopped a few times to look at the city lights across the bay and to watch the northern lights. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history. Then we did some sledding down a slope and then sat by the campfire for warm drink and snacks. We're so glad we went. It was a lot of fun

The Radisson is a meeting place for lots of tours and is easy to find. There were four of us on our tour plus the guide. It can be very strenuous and the guide can adjust the route based on your fitness level.

We saved $90 compared to a similar trip offered through our cruise line.

This is not for young kids under 12 or anyone that might struggle with hiking 2 miles in the snow. With that being said we had an amazing time. The city park is at the top of the island so you can see both the airport side and dock sides of the main island. Amazing views at night.

First timers or experience snow shoers will enjoy this. By the end of the tour we were lucky enough to see the northern lights at the end of the hike and also slid down the toboggan hill. The fire, snack and warm fruit drink were great. Our guide, Matthias was great. Snow shoes are provided but bring snow boots and lots of layers.

My family and I had a fabulous time. It is an experience that we will all NEVER forget! To start with we were all given a pair of snow shoes and walking sticks which were really cool. We walked through a beautiful landscape with a really helpful and experienced instructor. The walk lasted an hour and a half so not so good for families with young children but our children aged 10 and 12 had great fun. After the walk we settled down beside a bonfire. We travelled during winter so we ended up doing some sledging. We all had a blast as we slid down hills of around 100 metres. We all had a sledge to ourselves. Once we had finished we all sat around the bonfire and the host provided a delicious local cake and a hot drink. A fantastic experience and would highly recommend to anyone with a sense of fun and adventure.

My partner and I booked 2 tours on Christmas day with Tromso Outdoor. Our first was with a small group for cross country skiing for beginners. Lars was our guide and was very patient, professional and fun. The tour itself was definitely worth doing especially if you're like us and have never had a chance to experience any sort of snow sports!
Later that evening Mathias took us out on an evening snowshoeing trip with toboganning and bonfire. Mathias was a fun, professional and relaxed tour guide. It was definitely a fantastic way to end Christmas day in Tromso. While we were snowshoeing the beautiful bright northern lights danced above our heads. It was magical and great fun at the same time. Mathias made a warm bonfire for us towards the end of the night and we had heaps of fun together toboganning. We were lucky enough to be the only ones one the tour which made the trip even better. Thanks to the awesome guides at Tromso outdoor for a fantastic day out in the snow 😊
