Must do excursion on your Tromso visit.
Very enjoyable minibus tour lasting over five hours giving us maximum opportunity to see the Northern Lights. Our tour guide Anastasia and driver Andreas were both very friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble for them from taking photographs to preparing the camp fire on the beach on our third and final stop. We were so lucky with the weather and blessed to see the spectacular Northern Lights..A must do excursion on your visit to Tromsø.

      Nice tour
Wonderful and funny guide, very knowledgeable. Rekha is the best. We had a lovely time with everyone. Though we could see partial northern lights but the tour was good.. Thanks Arctic Tours ..

Best Arctic company worst experince and a life example of dissapoitment
Worst company i delt with with zero customer satisfaction and they only care about the money. I had booked two trips on the same day with the promise that the 1st trip finishes by 5 or 6. Hence the 2nd trip was a private tour for the aurora hunt and starts by 7:30 pm. We finished the first trip and returned to tromso by 6:40 as we were late by best arctic and one meber from my group got really sick. Henc, i went online to search for an emergency number and couldnt find any. The next day i went to the office and told best arctic about the situation, and without any hesitation or consideration they told us to contact the ensurance for a refund. They didnt offer any reschedule nor refund; noting thay we paid 19,000 NOK. When I told them that we couldnt find an emergency number; they said you should call the land line. The private tour for aurora hunt was made just one day prioir and the cancelation policy gave us 48 hours gap; this made us fall in a gray area due to short term arrangment. To our surprise we were not compensated nor satisfied and we paid a fortune for this trip. My advice dont go for big names when organizng your trips as we were told that best arcyic were the best and in reality and based on our experience they were lower than expected. They only care about money.

      Great experience
This was our first time snowmobiling and we had a really good time! The views are incredible and all three of our guides (Mike, Pablo and Ludvig) were great. I was nervous but they encouraged me to try driving and I'm very glad that I did, so special thanks to them.

Considering the weather, it was great!
Considering the conditions, it was a successful trip! The tour guide and driver were super knowledgeable and drove us to where they thought the best spot would be. And they were right! We expected to see nothing due to the cloud cover but thankfully, the forecasts they had consulted were right and we got a good break in the cloud and saw green! The lights weren’t dancing but they were definitely visible through the camera and we managed a few photos!

      Northern Lights Experience
The trip was well organised and our guide was excellent - she was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Tromso and the northern lights. The mini-bus was also very comfortable and luxurious. Unfortunately luck was against us, and the lights did not appear on the night we were out, despite it being a clear night. However our guide and driver did their best to find a spot where we could see them - we drove 2 hours to the border with Sweden and Finland. Despite not seeing the lights, which was obviously disappointing, it was still a magical experience.

      Great experience. Super helpful guides!
Went to the Aurora camp with Sonia and Francesca. What a great evening! The lodge was spacious and comfortable with hot drinks and a nice meal. Tripods for cameras and warm suits were provided too. The guides were so helpful, especially Sonia, who spent ages helping us get our camera properly set up - she was very patient and good humoured. And we got to see the Northern Lights! Would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent guide for Norther Lights chase
Our guide on this lights chase was Juan from Spain. The tour was well organised and professionally run. The bus and equipment all excellent. However, what really set this tour apart was the knowledge, diligence and friendliness of the tour guide, Juan. Though it was a freezing -28* Juan kept us all safe, and made sure we had an enjoyable and comfortable experience. His knowledge, experience and determination ensured we got to see a spectacular showing of the lights in a great location. He took great photos of us all and kept us going with fire, food and hot drinks. I honestly couldn’t recommend this tour and the guide especially, more highly. A first rate experience with a top guide. Thank you, Juan, for helping us tick off this bucket list wish.

Lack of communication from a guide
I would NOT recommend this tour to beginners, it is NOT beginner friendly. This was our first experience snowmobiling and we were behind two other snowmobiles, one which had crashed very early on and we were told to wait for about 10-15 minutes. They had not told us that there was a crash up ahead but just had us wait. As a beginner, catching up to the rest of the group after so long would have been difficult. However, on top of this, we were also behind a snowmobile that had a nervous driver who was constantly stopping without warning or signalling. One of the rules that the guides had listed out prior to commencing was that after 2 warnings, the driver would not be permitted to continue. The snowmobile in front of us were issued over 5+ warnings to their constant stopping but we were stuck behind them for a long time. We did not overtake them because it was a safety rule to not overtake. The lack of communication from one of our guides was appalling, the guide in front of us started turning around with no warning or explanation of the situation. Furthermore, said guide had conducted a "test" on whether we were sufficient drivers to proceed on route, which they concluded with no because we were too slow. We were stuck behind a snowmobile that was constantly stopped, we never had to opportunity to practice accelerating prior to this "test". Other than the above mentioned, the weather was amazing so the views were beautiful. The hot chocolate, fish soup and cake were delicious and were well appreciated.

Avoid!! No customer service at all
Very poor customer service and communication from best artic. Avoid booking with as they do not care about the customer. Booked a husky trip with collection from tromso lodge, 10 mins past collection time I contacted best artic to be told due to road conditions the coach would not be picking us up and we could make our own way via a taxi to the pick up point in the town centre. Were told we would be reimbursed for the taxi ride on the phone however the coach would not wait for us so if we didnt make it on time we would miss the trip. Managed to arrive just in time to be told we would need to email about reimbursement, did that. Email back saying would be passed on to the complaints team for consideration. Dont say you will reimburse if youre not honouring it. I appreciate weather conditions can affect plans but at no point was anything conveyed to us, only when we phoned were we informed and then to be told on the phone we would be reimbursed to now being told to email and they will get back to us. Shocking, disappointing and disgusting customer service. If i could give no stars I would

      Just pray miracles do happen
Well organised, professional, and plenty of info on the coach. The weather conditions for the trip to Sommarøy where not encouraging but Kinga said keep the faith and pray, miracles can happen! After going thru a blizzard for 20 mins we arrived at camp. Lovely setting over looking the water but cloudy. After an hour there was a few clear patch’s and false alarms. Time to go inside the hut and warm up with a choice of hot drinks or soup. Within in 10 minutes the shout goes up its visible with the naked eye. Screams of joy cameras out and a good show. Worth the wait, just pray ! Great driver, very safe on dicy roads. Guides helped with camera settings and loan of tripod

      Great tour
Very nice information on what to look out for with the mini bus tour. We got lucky and got to see the northernlights, the tour guide was lovely and the campfire with hot drinks were a nice touch.

Worst tour of the Northern Lights done in Tromsø!!!
Come on guys, with so many tour companies you have the audacity to give your guests soup( disgusting ) in a packet that gets mixed with water! My dogs back home would refused to even taste it. Very very poor. Soup is hardly difficult to make- out of 4 northern light tours, yours was by far the worst! Disorganized- you didn’t even have chairs for us to sit on! The suits that were supposedly to keep us warm, were used to sit on!!!! One pays a premium for a mini van tour yet we landed up next to 2 other Best Arctic vans!!!! Please don’t treat us tourists like idiots with money to throw around- it spoils the experience, leaves one feeling cheated which we were and you loose out as I certainly would never recommend you to anyone!!!!!!! Shocking

It was interesting and fun experience. We had heard stories of people fracturing their legs and etc. It wasn't as scary as we thought and it was actually rather easy to control. Just need to go slow and be careful. You can get a guide to lead if you don't feel up to it. The dogs were amazing by the way, don't miss the trip!

    Alaskan adorable huskies!
Fell in love with my husky team. Once in a lifetime opportunity must take it.
    It’s a 45 min bus ride , bring headphones.
You will get hot pushing the sled helping the husky team. If you can’t run and push don’t go.
    Great funny staff.

Hello there, thanks for the positive review! Yes, our husky safari is self-mushing activity and you need to be a bit fit in case you need to help the dogs. In any case, since there are two guests per sled, they can decide that one stays as passenger and the other drives the whole activity. Dogs are amazing, love to run and to receive cuddles :-) Have a nice weekend!

    My friend Rosie and I had an amazing experience during this dogsledding, on 15/12. Beautiful route towards the kennel (driving along fjords and into the mountain valley of Tamok) we were very friendly greeted by our guide for today Marcus. Clear covid, safety and gear explanation. And also the schedule of the whole day. The trip was fun, for sure! Adventurous. We could swap half way and we had some time to cuddle our dog dteam and just enjoy where we were: in the middle of nowhere, magic. We ended with a delicious fish soup that is included in a cosy wooden hut with indoor bonfire. The guide friendly thanks us for coming over and joining the dogs during their run, wonderful day! Thanks Tromso Safari;

The view on the way to the husky base (c. 1.5h) are scenic. We were warmly welcomed by the staffs on our arrival and then split into two groups for the sledding, or a brief introduction of the camp followed by a hot meal (fish soup). Extra clothes to keep you warm were provided. The sledding were carried out in a group of two. I travelled on my own, so was lucky enough to enjoy the view of the first sledge with our responsible and easy-going guide. I believe the view of the lake and fjords will be very beautiful if it was not during the polar night, but the riding experience was still very pleasant. And the dogs are lovable and trustworthy!

It was an extraordinary experience. The dogs were very cute. The ride took 2 people on each sled and we both rode half of the journey. Our guide was very friendly and helpful who explained the process clearly before our ride, and helped take a lot of nice photos of us. After the ride there was local fish soup and fire in the wooden house to make you warm again, which fits our imaginations of lives in Norway and the Arctic. I would highly recommend this trip! All the best wishes for the Huskies!!!

Beautiful experience near the Lyngen Alps with wonderful friendly dogs who are born to run. After about 2 hours of wonderful sledding, we had a very tasty fish soup, followed by cookies and coffee.
    Highly recomended.

Since I'm a kid I wanted to experience sled dog. We took the bus in Radisson Blu and just had to sit and go with the flow. A second bus drove us to the place and we were welcome by Sarah and Alex. Divided in 2 groups we were invited to eat soup and drink tea/coffee while the other group was going with the dogs Then we changed with warm clothes, had some important instructions and got on the sled. One "driving" one sitting and the experience started.
Beautiful landscape, dogs were so happy to lead us. After some time we stopped and took some pictures before we continued our journey. At the end the bus was waiting for us, we had time to say goodbye to the dogs and went back by bus to the hotel.
We will definitely come back if we have the chance to.
    Thank you for that experience.

Great experience, friendly dogs and everything was explained well . The equipment was well maintained and the arctic suits boots and gloves very warm , even in snow blizzard .
The camp area was great with local fish soup and I really enjoyed the long Sled safari , it might be hard work for some but worth it !

What an experience!! The dog handlers were so friendly and informative. We got to pet all the dogs and learn about them. We went off in two teams. First team got to stay back and meet the puppies and then have some soup and tea coffee or hot chocolate and then go off to ride with the huskies. It was snowing heavily so the whole scene was picturesque

This was by far our family's favorite activity - despite the kids being "meh" about it prior. Our kids, including younger son, could've spent the day on the trails with the dogs. If you're nervous or hesitant because you have kids, don't be! Make sure this excursion/activity is on your list.

Hello, hello, hello! Thank you very much for taking the time of writing these words about our activity! We are more than happy to hear that you and your children had a great time! And you are a 100% right! As long as the kids are 10 years old, there is absolutely nothing to worry about, except maybe cuteness overload!
