Troodos and Kykkos Day Tour from Paphos
US$23,94
Overview
This tour of Cyprus’ Troodos Mountains, and its villages and monasteries, from Paphos lets you sit back and enjoy the scenery without worry of route planning, ticket buying, or navigating. Visit the monasteries of Kykkos and Chrysorrogiatissa, enjoy pine forests and hamlets, and explore Omodos wine village, all as a guide provides background. Central hotel pickup and drop-off from central Paphos included.
What to Expect

Your day begins with pickup from your central Paphos hotel. There you board a comfortable, air-conditioned coach and journey into the scenic Troodos Mountains, the hills of Cyprus’ interior.

Stop to visit the 12th-century Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery, a retreat dedicated to the Virgin Mary, before continuing through Paphos Forest—protected pine woodlands in northwest Troodos—toward Kykkos.

Here, tour Kykkos Monastery to see its treasures, including a Virgin Mary icon believed to have been painted by the Apostle Luke. Then, venture through Marathassa Valley before a lunch stop (own expense) at a village.

Finally, stroll around the cobbled winemaking village of Omodos and visit its Holy Cross Monastery, home to a piece of rope reputedly used to tie Jesus to the cross.

While here, enjoy time for coffee or to try Cypriot commandaria wine and the local spirit, zivania, before your tour finishes with drop-off at your Paphos hotel.

Excellent day tour

I really enjoyed this day tour. We saw a mix of beautiful mountains, traditional old villages and churches, and opulent monasteries. Our guide, Mary, gave us lots of interesting information about the region and its history.
