Overview
Iceland’s south coast offers open expanses of rugged wilderness, wild plains, and spectacular views. With this family-friendly tour, delve deep into the countryside and see a side of Iceland many visitors miss. Travel by cart or sled—depending on weather conditions and season—and feel the power of your energetic huskies charging ahead. Later take a break for photos with the dogs. Enjoy personal attention from your guide on this small-group tour, limited to eight people.
What to Expect
After your arrival at your chosen departure time, you will receive instructions on the type of vehicle being used: a modified cart or a sled, if there is enough snow, and enjoy the dog ride.
Half-way through the sledding experience, there will be a break to take pictures with the dogs. Please be sure on bringing a camera with enough battery.
During the tour you can ask as many questions as you want to your tour guide regarding dog mushing and the dogs. The tour guides are well-trained and specialise in taking care of the dogs, you will not miss anything about the sport that they are so passionate about.

Good views, great dogs

The dogs are great, and you get some time to interact with them during your trip. The time before and after may be limited, if another tour follows yours. The staff are friendly and provide good information about the dogs, their personalities and the mix...More

Iceland is amazing, and I can't wait to visit again. My boyfriend and I did a self-drive, self-guided/researched tour of the South Coast, and absolutely fell in love with the different terrain, the wild weather, and everything in between. NOW ON TO THE DOGS. My...More

I saw a couple of small children on the sled in front of us, but I would email them to check. Their parents/guardians rode with them, which I’ll assume is required. The company is very fast responding on email.
