Guided Glacier Lagoon Tour
From US$320,00
Travel far while leaving the planning and driving to the experts on this full-day tour from Reykjavik. Travel along Iceland's south coast, taking in such dramatic sights as Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls and the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, before arriving at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon where (in summer) you embark upon a short cruise. A small group size ensures personal attention from your guide.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with a morning pickup from your central Reykjavik hotel. Meet your guide and small group, then settle into the minibus for the drive south.

After a short stop in the small town of Hvolsvöllur, head for Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which offers the unique opportunity to walk behind the teeming water. The nearby Skógafoss waterfall is next, where you can walk along the clifftop for a birds' eye view of the falls.

Continuing along the south coast, stop at the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, an eerie sigh battered by north Atlantic waves and surrounded by basalt columns and jagged sea stacks.

Stop in the little village of Vík for lunch (own expense) before visiting the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur and the Svartifoss waterfall in Skaftafell National Park.

Your final destination is the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a wonderland of floating icebergs framed by snow-capped peaks. Visitors in the summer months can take a boat trip across the lagoon to marvel at the icebergs up close.

After enjoying your free time to explore the area around the lagoon, board the bus for the return journey to Reykjavík. Take advantage of the bus' free Wi-Fi to upload your photos from the day and (in winter) make an additional stop along the way to try to spot the northern lights.

Your tour concludes with a drop-off back at your original departure point in central Reykjavik.

Beautiful scenery but very long tour

The scenery was breathtaking and lots to see. The whole trip was over 15 hours long. Mostly driving time seeing things fly by. Worth seeing all of these destinations, but knowing now the distance and hours, I might have done it as an overnight. We...More

Unfortunately Cancelled but....

We were initially asked to change the day of our trip from Saturday to Sunday. It wasn't a problem so we did. Then, it was cancelled the day before. However, we were given the option for a refund or a substitute tour of the Snaefellsness...More

Trip cancelled very late

I was looking forward to going on this particular trip. Due to the low number of people, they cancelled the trip. This is completely understandable however they cancelled it the night before and it was too late to organise anything else. Rather stick to the...More

We do not recommend this tour, which we took in mid-February. You would expect that by paying a premium for a small group tour you would get more comfort and personalised service, but this was NOT the case. We were picked up last from the...More
