Overview

Ice-strewn Jokulsarlon—one of Iceland’s top sights—attracts thousands of visitors every year hoping to get a close look at the glacier lagoon. The lagoon is roughly a 5-hour drive from Reykjavik and can be difficult to fit into an efficient itinerary. This tour combines a lagoon cruise with a coach tour of southern Iceland, stopping at waterfalls and scenic viewpoints on your way to visit one of the country’s natural wonders.

What to Expect

Board your bus at a central Reykjavik pickup point and set off on your journey towards Iceland’s southern coast.

Drive past picturesque villages, glacial rivers, and volcanic peaks. Listen while your guide shares stories about southern Iceland, and marvel at the epic landscapes of Skaftafell, a wilderness area in Vatnajökull National Park.

Stop at Skogarfoss waterfall and drive through Skeidararsandur, a vast black sand plain. See Oraefajokull—Iceland’s largest active volcano—just before you reach the lagoon.

Next, visit Seljalandfoss and take the footpath behind the mighty falls. Then, hop back on board the bus for the drive back to Reykjavik to be dropped off at the departure point.

Long excursion but well worth it. And a great guide that tells very interesting stories and...More

Iceland is amazing and beautiful. Getting to take in the scenery is a lovely experience. The tour guide was below the standard I had expected (even after reading some of the bad reviews). It is a really long drive to be prepared to drive for...More

A long day but worth it

This was a fourteen hour day in a big tour bus. I've written another review about our tour guide, who almost ruined the day for us, but the sightseeing and the driver were great. I never dreamed I'd be able to be within feet of...More

Excellent Day Out!

If you want to get to know Iceland, this is the tour. You will see all of the varied landscapes while you sit back and let someone else do all of the driving. It was an amazing day; we are still talking about it.

My hostel is only 5 minutes away from you and last march my wife's hotel was even farther from the city center. they still pick up. Either from a designated bus stop or right at your hotel door.
