Overview
From towering waterfalls to bubbling geysers, some of Iceland’s most dramatic landmarks are clustered around the Golden Circle. This full-day, guided coach tour takes in the highlights, including Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Strokkur Waterspout. Let someone else navigate and drive, so you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views as a guide shares the fascinating stories behind the scenery. Tour includes convenient pickup and drop-off from Reykjavik.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your centrally located Reykjavik hotel, or at the cruise port, and then leave the city behind as you head into Iceland’s rugged, mountainous interior.

The first stop on the Golden Circle route is Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland held its first parliamentary assembly. Hear guide commentary about the site as you admire the pristine beauty, and peer into the Thingvellir Rift, two tectonic plates joined by a narrow valley.

Next, head to Gullfoss Waterfall, double-tiered cascades that send up spectacular mist and occasional rainbows.

Continue along the Golden Circle to an area simmering with volcanic activity, hot springs, pools, and steam vents. Keep your camera ready at Strokkur, a powerful waterspout that erupts 98 feet (30 meters) in the air. This Golden Circle tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Outstanding

This was my favorite tour of the 3 I did while in Iceland. Guide was very informative and we had plenty of time at each stop to enjoy our time there.

Great Trip!

This trip is a great way to see many of Iceland's natural attractions in one day at a reasonable price. It's especially good if you are only there for a few days so don't have much time to do your own thing.

There are many companies that offer the Golden Circle tour, and they have multiple departure times. So you can pick an operator and time that will get you back to your ship in time. When we did the tour a few weeks ago we... More
