Highlights
  • Get deeper insight into Stockholm life from your guide
  • Embark on a ferry ride to Djurgarden
  • Explore Stockholm's maritime history at the Vasa Museum at your own pace
What to expect
Meet your guide and group in the center of Old Town at Stortorget, Stockholm's oldest square. Stroll the cobblestone streets of and listen as your guide tells you about such historic characters as Birger Jarl, the man who founded the city of Stockholm in 1250. Walk through atmospheric narrow passageways and along streets originally built for horse-drawn carriages as you head for the Gothic cathedral, Storkyrkan. Continue to the Royal Palace to admire its splendid baroque-style architecture, and the palace guards who protect the Swedish royal family's residence. Next, it's time to explore the archipelago further. Take a ferry to Djurgarden island to visit the Vasa Museum. Explore the highlight: a nearly intact ship that sank off Stockholm in 1628 on its maiden voyage. Your tour concludes in the museum, so feel free to continue exploring, or perhaps grab a bite to eat (own expense) at leisure.

This was a good tour of an overview of Stockholm. I felt like it was a good length including main attractions supported by some nice storytelling. Our guide Joel was on time, fun at storytelling, and kept a good pace. I slightly wish we had more time with him in the Vasa Museum as I enjoyed his stories in there but we didn’t quite cover the other floors. Overall I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants an overview of the main highlights as well as inclusion of the Vasa Museum.

This was one of the best walking tours I have ever been on, thanks to the wonderful guide, Kevin. Rather than focusing on the typical boring historical facts, Kevin weaves together a fascinating tale that really brings Stockholm to life. From old town to the Vasa, you will leave feeling better connected to the city, its people and its history. I highly recommend starting your visit with this tour, it is a good grounding for the rest of your stay. Make sure Kevin is your guide!

First a confession - I didn't take down our wonderful guide's name and can't remember. I think it may have been Katryn? My apologies to her. She did a fantastic job not only bringing the old city to life, but giving the tour in two languages (our group was made up of a UK couple and a French couple) while keeping everyone enthused and interested. The tour itself is just the right length, and includes the entrance fee to the amazing Vada museum and the ferry there and back. Learnt loads and as a result fell even more in love with Stockholm, its people and history than I already had. Not just a must see, but a "must do".

Must See and Must Use this Tour!!

First time in Stockholm for wife and me. Booked the tour for a rainy day, Katrine was our guide. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and friendliness overcame the weather and we had the most amazing tour of the Old City and the Vasa Museum. Katrine has encyclopedic knowledge of the history and current facts about both, and we highly recommend this company and especially Katrine for this tour! I’d give six stars if they had them.

I was prepared to see an old sunken ship that had been brought up but this was so far beyond that I'm at a loss for accurate words to describe the Vasa. This is unbelievable in so many ways. Its massive- well beyond what I was expecting- the craftsmanship is amazing and the whole layout of the museum is just fantastic. This is truly one of the coolest museum experiences I've ever had. In my personal scale of life, if the Grand Canyon is the apex at a 10, this is a 9.

Fantastically organized and informative museum all about the great galleon ship the Vasa which sunk in Stockholm harbor on its maiden voyage. It was then raised 333 years later...it is astonishing and the restaurant in the museum is fantastic. A must see while in Stockholm.

What a fabulous tour - Kevin brought the history to life and kept us engaged from start to finish. The Vasa insights were worth the money alone and I loved the tiny statue! He also gave us lots of advice at the end on his to spend our limited time in Stockholm. Thank you Kevin - 5 stars certainly merited!

This boat is amazing . It’s one of the best things I have seen for years . The whole experience is incredible. The boat is 95 %original and has been restored beautifully. The whole story is incredible . It sank on its maiden voyage and lay under water for 300 + years!! Go and see it !!!

We met our guide, George, about 10 minutes before our tour was to start. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. George walked us through the highlights with ease and brought the the story of Stockholm, both old and new , to life as we walked. There were 6 people on our tour and he answered everyone’s questions in detail. We took the ferry and visited the Vasa museum next... this is a must see! This is a great way to see some of the city and you don’t need to worry about navigating, it is all done for you 😃 I highly recommend Ourway Tours !

If you are looking for a relaxed walk and listen type of tour then this is a perfect option for you. The tour is roughly 2 hours of which roughly 40 minutes is the actual tour guide talking to you about the places as you visit them. Vasa Museum is a true gem! I wish the tour was slightly longer maybe by another 30min to an 1 hour and slightly better structured to keep it more engaging/interesting. If you consider yourself an active tourist and you don't want to spend money on something you can read online after visiting given place then you might consider spending your money worth on other attractions that the Stockholm has to offer.
