About
On this trip we want to show you a bit of everything: traditional villages, churches, mountains, gorges and beaches. The first stop is at Kournas, the only fresh water lake on Crete. A drive through the country side takes us to the village Argyroupoli where a short round walk will take you through various periods of Cretan history to end up in the present again while enjoying a coffee or a juice. During the drive that follows you will notice changes in the scenery as we are approaching the south coast. Just before we catch the first glimpse of the Libyan Sea we stop in the Kotsifou Gorge to visit a beautiful stone church. Our largest break will be in the bay of Plakias where you can spend time at the beach, have a meal or stroll through the village. On the way back to Rethymno we drive through the Kourtaliotis Gorge where we stop so you can take pictures of this amazing and wild landscape.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Ian T0 contributionsGreat day out to some fab beaches - beautiful! Can't fault the experience and our tour guide, George, was a legend...so helpful and friendly. It's a long day out but worth the effort. Take cash for ferry ticket and sun beds. There's very little shade so take appropriate clothing. Decent shoes required if you want to visit the fort. It's quite rocky in places so beach shoes also worth having. Highly recommendedWritten 4 June 2024
- Erica S0 contributionsWill never use this againThe communicate was terrible. They changed the time of pick up till 9.25pm and did not inform us we waited for an hour. Did not receive the voucher till the day after. Asked for a refund. REFUSED.Written 13 October 2023
- Imre-GustavVellamaa0 contributionsOur driving to/from Preveli Palm beach took longer than the stay - it was worth of it!I love that beach! Not too easy to reach (for example from Hersonissos over 2 hours driving by car) and then you have to use steps up and down but it is not too long walking. If you enjoy views on the road - mountains, sea from the top of some mountain etc, superview to/from the beach, walking in a palm-park, swimming - worth to visit it! Also worth to know - there is a river where you can swim also (specially important in a case if a salty sea-water hurts your skin for some reason). The beach is sandy and the sand was really hot. There are also available services like shower, restaurant etc. There are quite many people but I would not say it is overcrowded - sure if you prefer some beach to be alone then it is not for you but hard to expect any beach like this with a good asphalt road etc built just for you :) P.S. Also some boat-trips are organized to this beach. We reached the beach at ca 13.00 and I think starting from 15.00 (can be wrong time) some big boats landed, took a group of people on board and left.Written 5 September 2021

Fine Guide, good communication and contact with the organization was also super!
Got an explanation all the way about what we encountered and its origin with good distances to travel! In general there was 30/45 minutes between breaks (with possibility of lunch / food and pee breaks.
Super sweet wife and driver.
Last stop was Plakias, a stop of no less than 3 hours.. I thought it was very long, I had seen it after 1.5/2 hours.
If you really want to discover things and go hiking (alone or with the Guide) it is nice if you put on good and sturdy shoes.
Otherwise really great!
