Athens Highlights: a Mythological Tour
From US$68,78
Overview
Discover Athens architecture though ancient Greek gods and heroes on a tour that blends real-world buildings with the stories that inspired them. Learn about ancient Greek society as you stroll through the Acropolis, visit temples to Zeus and Hephaestus, and tour the Keramikos Cemetery. A fun mix of storytelling and history makes this a great all-ages introduction to ancient Greece while you explore some of Athens’ top sites.
What to Expect
Make your way to a central location in Athens, then join a guide and small group for a walking tour of the city’s ancient landmarks. Hear the story of Athens from the city’s founding to its Golden Age, battles, and rebirth, and meet the key characters of mythological Greece. As you walk through the city, you’ll take in the main sites of ancient Athens, but also lesser-known gems that are often overlooked.

In the Acropolis itself, see the Parthenon, the Theater of Dionysus, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the Sanctuary of Asklepios. From there, take in the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the ancient Agora, the Temple of Hephaestus, and the Keramikos Cemetery, filled with historic graves and crumbling ruins. After a half day of exploring, this tour concludes at a central location in Athens.
