Overview
Athens’ Acropolis is one of the world’s top archaeological sites, and exploring it independently risks just skimming its surface. Cover its highlights and more on this walking tour, with a guide adding insight and context to the Parthenon and other monuments. Plus, round things off at the New Acropolis Museum, with your guide showcasing its must-sees. Includes a choice of start times for flexibility, with entrance fees at own expense.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in central Athens at your selected time, and stroll to the base of the Acropolis, the city's UNESCO-listed rocktop citadel.

Avoid the main crowds by heading for the southern slopes, and visit the Theater of Dionysus and Dionysus Sanctuary on route while discussing their history.

Then, pay your admission and head into the Acropolis. Explore key sights such as the Propylaea, Erechtheion, and Temple of Athena Nike, and marvel at the Parthenon as your guide explains its significance. Then, gaze down on Athens and learn about the monuments below, including the agora and Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

Continue to the New Acropolis Museum, considered one of the world’s top five museums. Purchase admission and enjoy a guided tour of its highlights, including its statues and glass-floored galleries that reveal excavations on the Acropolis’ slopes.

Your tour finishes in the museum, leaving you free to continue exploring independently.

Fantastic tour, very informative

Very informative tour from start to finish. Guide had very good english, but exceptional knowledge and information. My only recommendation would be to add ear pieces with microphone, so you can always here what the guide is saying.

Hmmm...mixed feelings here

The reason its mixed feelings because most statues are damaged and not full figure, so unlike Egypt where you see the whole statue in its full shape, so I wouldn't recommend unless if you are a true lover of the history and don't mind to...More

The beauty and layout are stunning. I love the glass tiles on the exterior as you walk on, you are able to see the excavations. There is a lot of rich content and history, but, only one can appreciate it fully with a proper guide....More
