Itinerary

Begin with pickup from your Porto hotel. Board your air-conditioned vehicle and head through town to the waterfront on an illuminating tour, learning more about the city’s cultural significance and working traditions.

Travel to Vila Nova de Gaia, the home of the region’s Port industry and wine caves. Enjoy a ‘rabelo’ cruise along the Douro (optional when booking) and learn about the working vessel’s history, while admiring the riverside landmarks, including the famous six bridges.

Next, visit a Port wine lodge and sample different styles of the specialty fortified wine, while gaining insight into its production from your guide. Appetite whetted, continue to a nearby restaurant for a traditional Portuguese lunch.

Afterward, head into the city center for an intimate walking tour, exploring iconic sites such as Lello’s bookshop, the São Bento Train Station and the UNESCO-listed Old Town. After a full day, conclude with drop-off back to your hotel.

Our tour took about 8 hours. The tour guide will pick you up at your residence or set a meeting point if you're not in the Town Center

The book tour is not included. You kind of walk past it though (and you see this insane long line wrapping around the block).
