      Well worth it
Daniel was our host and guide. What a wonderful experience we had with him and our group. The background of the city, Portugal and surrounding area was so interesting and the 3 hours went by so quickly. Delicious food and wine and a nice easy walk through part of town center. Highly recommend you consider taking a tour early on your visit as we did. Gave us areas we want to go back and visit.

      Very worthwhile tour
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide Guilherme was very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything Portuguese and gave us lots of tips for our Lisbon trip. We were treated to some beautiful food and drinks which we returned to again over the course of our visit. The rain was unrelenting during the tour but we hardly noticed because we were enjoying ourselves so much. We would thoroughly recommend booking this tour for a fantastic introduction into Lisbon food and drinks.

      Relaxing and Enjoyable Day
A lovely day, our guide was very personable and knowledgeable about the area. Saw a lot of beautiful scenery and visited two wineries with great tastings. Tour at JKF was very interesting and Quinta de Alcube was an amazing little winery. Very much recommend to get out of the city and enjoy some local wines.

A must do day excursion from Lisbon
Highly recommend this trip for a day excursion from Lisbon. They pick you up downtown in a very comfortable van with no more than 8 people on the tour. Our tour guide, Natalia, grew up in the area that this tour goes to and her knowledge and understanding of the culture and where we visited made the trip a memory never forgotten. Natalia was the best tour guide we ever had and a great since of humor and the way she explained and recommended where we go in the different areas made this a must see area and tour.

      Very enjoyable tour
A very enjoyable food and wine tour led by Martin on 13th March; he is a great guide, very knowledgeable and provided lots of information about both Lisbon’s history and our food/wine experience. Lovely to chat to other very friendly people in the group too. Would recommend! 👍

The best wine & food tour so far
We had a really nice food tour with our guide Pedro. Even though, the culinary culture of Lisbon wasn’t that new to us, we learned a lot about the origins of Lisbon, the wine and food we tried. Pedro animated our small group with a lot of enthousiasm and gave us interesting historical Informations. The wine and food were delicious.

Small group tour that is worth it
This is a small group tour. You get picked up near the Hard Rock in downtown Lisbon. They then take you by passenger van to different sites. Fatima was large with a lot of religious significance. We expect it could be hot in the summer. Mass in English was going on. The tour also takes you to Obido. A small quaint town and other places to see. Certainly worth the day trip from Lisbon

Falling in love with Portugal once more
What a great day we had! Mar was knowledgeable and fun. The timing of the visits was just right. I recommend this day trip. It would have been very hard to achieve the visit to all those places in one day by myself. And I wouldn’t have had the historical knowledge without Mar. Small group tours are my favorite and my group had really nice people. Thank you, Mar, for being such a positive person and a great ambassador of a beautiful country..

Tour was in both French and English, which made it hard to ask questions, because the guide was constantly flipping between languages to give his speech twice for each highlight. Too much time spent in shopping districts -- one that wasn't open yet (too early in the day) and one that was overrun with tourists. This "tour" isn't really much more than a narrated van ride where you pay for your own lunch, and get entrance to the castle. The castle is cool, but there have to be better options than this van ride. The lunch spot was tasty but overpriced. We had many, many meals throughout Portugal for less than half the price.

We almost always give 5 stars. But……. We booked this specifically because we had read about the horrible lines at Peña Castle. The description promised to take us to the castle first, before the crowds, followed by various other stops. On the day of the tour, the greeting was orderly (on the street in front of the Hard Rock Cafe) and we were sorted into our groups. The driver then informed us that the tour was not able to get enough morning tickets, so some vans would have to reverse our tour order and enter the castle at 2:30. Big bummer. This meant huge traffic jams on the one lane twisty road into Sintra. Furthermore, we could have simple purchased timed entry tickets ourselves for 2:30. The guided portion of the tour inside the castle was good. The driving was not great. A girl in the back of the van nearly got sick several times. Having booked this over a month in advance, we are very perplexed that we didn’t get the morning slot that was promised while other vans leaving the same morning did??? They clearly got overbooked, but didn’t respect the booking order as they planned which van would go in which time slot. Not cool. Thus, 3 stars. If we did this over, I would buy a timed-entry ticket, and take the train from Lisbon. We are also an active family, so climbing the hill would have been an awesome hike (though most would probably NOT agree, very steep). Then hike back down for lunch on one of the many many many quant restaurants in the historic town center carved into the cliffs (which reminded us of the Amalfi Coast).

Hello Adam S., On that day, Pena Palace platform had an unexpected problem in the system, which gave us no other chance than to send some of our tour guides in an afternoon schedule. As a last minute issue, it gave us no time to check which were the oldest reservations (the people were already distributed in the Vans). As so, we really sorry if that fact impacted your experience negatively. Best regards,

The itinerary fails to tell you that you wont be spending some free time on some of the main attractions of the Sintra park. It is ONLY the palace even though nearby theres a lot to see.

The tour is most often bilingual so you will have to be lucky to get a guide that can smoothly switch between both languages. Mine spent 80% of the time on the language that we havent selected until we complained.

Lack of microphone for the tour guide made things difficult too since the Sintra palace is pretty tight while walking the corridors and there's a lot of people.

If you choose this tour, you will be giving up some precious time in Sintra park. If you dont have time its fine, but we decided to abandon the tour group since it was uncomfortable for us to be together because of the language barrier and also we would miss most of Sintra. Specifically the mouros ruins.

Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because the tour provided us 80% refund since we abandoned it, so at least customer service took responsability. Would not recommend though.

Hello pieroh69, We understand your will to visit as many atractions as possible, however, to do things accordingly to what you said, it was not an 8h tour, but a 12h tour, or more. This tour is not just to Sintra, although it gives you the oportunity to visit the well known Pena Palace and the little town. Regarding the bilingual comentary, let me clarify that in our company, it may be in bilingual but it is not "most often bilingual", actually. We hope that you enjoyed your time after quiting the tour, at least. Best regards

We were so glad that we booked this tour as it was an easy way to see other sights outside of Lisbon that would have been cumbersome and aggravating to get to on our own. Our guide was a pleasant and informative man. The reason I am giving this tour three stars is because in the town of Sintra ,which was one of the most charming places I have seen,..... filled with adorable cafes and bakeries we were taken to a formal, overpriced and family run restaurant where we were seated with the other family on our tour who spoke French and did not speak English. We were all encouraged to order three course meals that took a long time to be served and honestly were not tasty and were overpriced. That lunch took up over an hour of our day and most importantly took time away that we could have had exploring Sintra. When we got to the town of Sintra just 5 minutes down the road we only had an hour to see the whole town which was not enough. Why would you now ask the tour group for their preference as to what they would like to do? I could imagine that most people would have opted to eat on their own at one of the dozens of restaurants in Sintra. All of us are on the tour to see Portugal not to sit in a family run restaurant on the outskirts of the main attraction. When we saw how lovely Sintra was my husband and I could not stop talking about how we wish we had more time there. We had already booked their other popular tour to Nazare,Obidos and Fatima so I called the company afterwards and requested that we be given free time during the time for our lunch and explore. I was so glad that I had that conversation as we really enjoyed our lunch in Nazare. We found a little cafe right on the water where we had $2 euro local beers and Sangria, a great fish sandwich for $4 Euro and then treated ourselves to an amazing gelato place down the street. It was fast and informal and we had plenty of time to walk around and actually see Nazare. The usual restaurant that they take groups to wasn't on the water and had very formal meals. I am not suggesting that isn't appealing to some folks but when I travel I am there to see the local sights and take in the culture of the place. It was uncomfortable I am sure for all of us to be sat with other tourists at the same table who do not speak the same language. I speak zero French and felt so badly for the nice couple who was trying to struggle through making conversation in English. It was also noted that our guide chose not to sit with us so we were on our own to try to make conversation with each other for over an hour. The cod fish pastry had bones in it and the meat was so tough it was hard to cut. We also had a fish soup that based on the smell I opted to not even try.

Dear Wendy, First of all thank you for your feedback and our apologies for this situation. Usually we give 1h30 free in Sintra to visit the village and to have lunch. Sometimes the guides can recommend a restaurant where it's possible all the customers join a meal. We're sorry to know that it didn't correspond to the expectations even though the lunch is not included on the tour. We hope that you had enjoy all the other places we visit along the tour and at least we're happy to know that your tour to Fátima and Obidos run in a different way.  Once again we do apologize for the situation. Kind regards,

My family and(group of 4) went on the Sintra-Cas Cais tour with Rodrigo as our tour guide. Rodrigo was very knowledgeable and a very well mannered guide, making the tour, not only informative, but very enjoyable. We toured the Pena Palace and were left to tour the town of Sintra afterwards. Rodrigo gave us insider tips on a few of the bakeries and gift shops in the area.
Next, we headed to a local restaurant named Julio’s. Here, we enjoyed our favorite meal of our Portuguese vacation! We had a 3 course meal with a few bottles of red and white wine for only 25€ and I truly recommend having the roasted lamb! After lunch, we quickly visited the western most tip of Portugal and off to the chíc beach town of Cas Cais. Here, Rodrigo explained the allure of Cas Cais and its history of noble residents and visitors. Again, we were left to explore Cas Cais’s beach front for an hour before taking the scenic drive back to Lisbon. This day trip was well worth the costs and a great way to expand on a vacation visit to Lisbon. I highly recommend Rodrigo! He is an asset and a shining star!

Made a day trip to Sintra and Cascais from Lisboa. Since I was with my wife and infant son, we took a tour and the guide was very warm and friendly. She spoke passionately about the history and culture of her country. We really enjoyed the Fado music she played and tried teaching us!

Alberto was a great guide! He was very knowledgeable, and answered any questions the group had in great detail. He made a slight detour to one of his favourite spots on the way and this turned out to be a really special and peaceful moment for everyone involved. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city of Lisbon and if you’re lucky enough to have Alberto as your tour guide, you WILL NOT be disappointed. Thank you Alberto :)

We had an incredible day exploring Sintra and Cascais with our tour guide, Patricia. From the moment she picked us up (perfectly on time), she was engaging, informative and entertaining. We laughed, we sang and we explored beautiful sites. She even went above and beyond to keep our mom company when she needed to take some breaks with walking up the stairs. The description of the tour does advise there are some physical limitations so keep them in mind when booking this tour. Lots of stairs at Peña Palace but there is a mini bus up to the palace which was a welcome surprise. Patricia never made us feel rushed and was sure we got to see every bit (and more!) described in this tour. She even made our lunch reservation at a traditional Portuguese restaurant. Lunch is not included in the price, but very reasonable for all that was included with the meal, and it was delicious!! It’s an excellent way to see some very special areas of Portugal. You won’t be disappointed!

Simply out of the fairy tale, it was a dream come true. The visit enatiled a fantastic experience of witnessing how the various discoveries of land, includig the one discovered by Vasco de Gama eventually influenced the architecture of one side of the Penna palace constructed in the Indian (Rajasthani style) style of architecture with domed windows etc. I strongly recommend.
