This tour offered by "Get Your Guide" was a complete travesty. The basilica of St Marks was already closed but they were happy to take 76 euro for a tour of the basilica only revealing that the tour could not happen in the small print accessible after a number of steps

How about WOW?
Nov 2019
Floods did not make this easy at all, but it did happen and we did see them. Such beauty and so much work for so long and so very long ago. Even for the non religious, this is impressive period. Go for the hour that it is lit and enjoy the beauty alone.

St mark's church and Doge's palace
Dec 2019 • Family
Poorly managed. Firstly, the meeting point was not clear. Hence, though we were just near the meeting point, confusion set in as there were 2 clock towers. We missed the 1st part of the tour(Doge's Palace) just by a few minutes and were not allowed to join in the tour though we were just a few metres away from the palace. Tour agent met us after 1h and took us to the Bascilia. Tour seemed very short and guide did not explain the importance of the church well. We felt that she did not bring us to some parts of the church too. I will not take this tour again. Waste of my time and money

Both places should not be missed. Incredible!

The Basilica is just awesome. The beauty is indescribable. We had seen the Doge's Palace a few years ago but had family with us on their first visit. Both sites are amazing and should not be missed. A tour that eliminates the huge line is the only way to go.

Outstanding tour with knowledgeable guide, lot of information
Nov 2019
Touring Ofer 50 years, always an adventure and highly dependent on time of year, weather, crowds and available guide. This tour we had an incredible guide, trained and teaching architecture who grew up in Venice and spoke excellent English. Without a doubt one of the best tours I have been on. We bypassed waiting in long lines, understood everything and group worked well together (about 30 of us). As other reviews state there was initial confusion, as the only people waiting under the clock tower 10 to 15 min before tour were other people waiting under the clock tower for the same tour and no blue or white jackets or pocket labels etc. I started wandering since we were getting close to start time and found some guys near by with a short “tours” sign who directed me to a guy in the crowd nearby taking tickets and handing out orange stickers and tour admission tickets then back to the tour guys to get the receiver for the tour; channel Was pre set depending on language for our tour group, volume turned down on mine but my wife started hearing guide speaking (sometimes good to be hearing voices) and turned my volume up found the guide and the rest was spectacular. Better logistics especially when raining and umbrellas everywhere and need better taller signs and check your volume and don’t touch their setting on channel. Tour spectacular well over time planned, we were lucky and she was passionate about teaching. Well worth the charge and we did tip her as well.

The best way to save time and get the chance to enjoy the most crowded places in Venice!!!
Nov 2019 • Couples
Dear all, my wife and I are normally the type of tourists who just start walking and explore without a guide or gps or whatsoever. When we arrived at St. Marks square and saw the queue for me personally it was done and I just threw away the idea of visiting the basilica and palace because it’s a REAL time killer to stand there for hours in pouring rain. So I had the idea of booking this tour and after all we are very happy with this decision!
It’s the only you’re where you can actually sit down and enjoy the spiritual atmosphere in the basilica (non guided or other tours just walk around once and they are not allowed to stop). At the doges palace you get an insight how the system in Venice worked and how similarities still exist today. All in all we also want to thank you again JOSI for the amazing tour, you were the absolute Jewel of our day by teaching us how to get trough masses of people the Italian way 👌🏼

St Mark’s Basilica & Doges Palace fast track tour
Oct 2019 • Friends
A little confusion at first whilst rep dealt with large group of people trying to find their tour.

Once our guide arrived everything went very well. The guide was very passionate & knowledgeable which made for an excellent tour.

I seriously recommend booking this tour, not having to queue is an additional bonus.

Perfect timing!
Oct 2019
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and it felt like every moment was perfectly planned out. Apparently the lights in the basilica are only turned on once a day and being able to witness that sitting while listening to more historic information from our guide was magical. Thank you!!

It was ok
Oct 2019
I'm not really an artsy person so I think maybe this tour was just too detailed for me but I was a little bored throughout. The basilica and palace are both nice places to see and while in Venice it's almost a crime not to but I wish I had done a shorter tour. Our tour guide was very passionate about Venice in general and was very knowledgeable about the 2 places we visited. Again, I just wish I was on a summarized version of this tour where they gave me the main historical points rather than delve into the painting specifics. When they start pointing out all the little details about all the various paintings we were passing, after a while I mostly just lost interest. If you are into art, then I definitely recommend this tour.

Dear Christina V, We are sorry to hear that you did not particularly enjoy the guided tour. Our guides are required to provide as much information as possible in the time at their disposal but they always try to be entertaining as well. Perhaps this tour was not the right fit for you if you are not so much interested in art! Next time you are in Venice we suggest you our St. Mark’s Square Express, a 50-minutes guided walk where you can get a general idea of Venice history and its main monuments from the outside. Best, Michela Venetoinside.com
