Overview
The Bernina Express between Switzerland and Italy is one of Europe’s most spectacular train journeys and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tour whisks you across the route in one day, with everything planned ahead of time, including a coach ride to Tirano, a ride on the Bernina Express railway to St Moritz in Switzerland, free time in the Swiss resort town, and a return to Milan by coach.
What to Expect

Meet your guide in central Milan and set out on the journey to Tirano on air-conditioned coach. Soak up the scenery as you head north into the foothills of the Alps, and enjoy free time to explore Tirano.

Next, step aboard the red-painted train carriages of the Bernina Express and enjoy unbeatable views from panoramic windows. The around 2.5-hour train ride takes in one of the most impressive sections of the Bernina route, including views of Lake Como, the spiral viaduct of Brusio, and the mountains of the Bernina Pass. As you cross into Switzerland, pass snow-covered peaks, wild gorges, and Swiss Alps, before stopping at the ski resort of St Moritz.

In St Moritz, enjoy lunch (own expense), admire the alpine scenery, or stroll the historic town and browse for souvenirs.

After meeting with your guide, return to Milan by coach, where your tour ends at the departure point.

Stunning landscapes.

As per other reviews - did not appreciate getting pushed into paying for pre-reserved lunch offered on the bus before arrival in Tirano. Found it expensive and not worth it. Plenty of other options you'd probably enjoy much more, so don't be pushed into it....More

The scenery was the best part

We were excited to revisit St Moritz for its beauty and quaintness. The stop in Tirano was a waste of time. Would have liked more time in St Moritz. Our guide barely spoke. I felt she was not doing her job. The Italian speaking guide...More

St. Moritz Fabulous/Tirano Not So Much

The scenary once on the Bernina Express train is amazing, made the whole excursion worth while. Stop in Tirano to kill time before boarding train at 1pm served no purpose. Either have tour begin later or give more time than 1hour once at St. Moritz...More

We met at the meeting point at 6:45 am and left Milan by coach bus (about 2.5-3 hours with a 20 minute toilet stop at mid point) on a very scenic route to Tirano where we board the Bernina Express train to St Moritz. The... More
