    What to Expect
Meet your knowledgeable local guide at La Scala Theater and get ready for an education in opera. This tour is a feast for the eyes and the mind, as your guide leads first through the theater's museum, regaling you with the history of the theater while being dazzled by the display of intricate costumes once worn on stage, musical instruments played by famous musicians and various stage props used in famed productions. See also painted portraits of some of the most famous composers and performers -- from Guiseppe Verde to Arturo Toscanini. Then spend some time in the museum bookshop browsing at books about opera, in general, and famous composers, in particular.

As you tour the theater and museum, you'll gain an appreciation of the amount of work that goes in to an opera production at this famed venue.

Book early to avoid missing out! La Scala is extremely popular and regularly sells out weeks in advance.

The highlight was definitely seeing the auditorium of the opera house. The museum is interesting if you're a fan of opera. We had a guide who spoke English but we found it difficult to understand all she was saying so this was disappointing.

This wonderful opera house is a must to visit. However, it is best to go in and get an audio tour for better English, if that is your language. The tour that is given was substantial, but it was difficult to understand the guide. Also,...More

Totally cool museum. Highlight is seeing the inside of opera house from one of the box seats, middle tier of six. Great video narrated by architect who did most recent renovation. Quick walk from here to Duomo.

A "must see" for lovers of classical music - the legendary La Scala: the spiritual home for many of the greatest composers and artists. No tours on this day as there was a Verdi rehearsal on stage including sound and lighting as well, but we...More

The food tour was cancelled, so we arranged through the hotel for a tour of La Scala, the famous opera house. Overall, the tour was poor conducted. The guide and assistant were very disorganized, the audio system was cheap and difficult to hear, the guide...More

It’s not worth doing the tour. Just go to the museum on your own time and learn about the opera house that way.
