Rome Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica Early Morning Express Tour
US$83,00 per adult
The Vatican Museums are among the most crowded in the world, sometimes having as many 20,000 visitors every day. With this tour, see the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica in the relative peace of early morning, entering the museums an hour before they are open to the public—when you enter the Sistine Chapel, it will still be mostly empty. A small-group size means plenty of personal attention.
What to Expect
Your early morning tour begins at the main entrance to the Vatican Museums. Meet your guide and small group and enter the museums. Walk through the main galleries, including the Room of the Candelabra, Hall of Tapestries, and Gallery of the Maps.

Before reaching the Sistine Chapel, receive a reference map you can use once inside, a useful resource since visitors to the chapel are expected to be silent. Spend around 20 minutes in the room with Michelangelo’s masterpieces.

After exiting the chapel from a side door head straight to St. Peter’s Basilica, skipping security lines. Your guide takes you to see the baroque Baldacchino, La Pieta, and other masterworks.

The last stop is underneath the main floor of the basilica, where hundreds of Popes are buried.

Finish the tour in front of the Basilica.

Nice and quick tour

This was a nice and quick tour. I didn’t waste the whole day, yet got to see everything. Our group was small and our guide Gia was excellent. There was a ton of lines and it would have been confusing if we did not have...More

Vatican group-English

Our guide, Becky, was informative, deeply knowledgeable, and within a religious context was quite humorous. Just before leaving the museum segment, 3 of us in our group were cut off from our guide. We shortly joined a new guide, Livy, who took us in her...More

Roman Guy 7.30am Vatican Tour was brilliant!

This tour was a highlight of our Italian holiday. Firstly the Roman Guy admin and support team are totally professional and organized. The instructions and meeting point sent by email was clearly identified and when we arrived early, there were 4 staff members to sort...More

Ciao Janis! Grazie for leaving us a review. Security can be tough at the Vatican, but once you see the beauty of the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, it's all worth it. We hope to welcome you back to Rome soon!

Tour was good for us, not so good for others in our group.

The original meeting point for the Roman Guy Vatican tours is a good spot, although I would warn customers that Cafe Vaticano is a tourist trap - one of the two bad experiences we had choosing locations to eat where the waiter attempted to take...More

Our guide asked us 3 times if we needed a break. We had a small group and she did head counts all the time so as not to lose anyone.

The Roman Guy tour leaves you in the basilica when it completes. For the Scavi office you need to go through a separate security checkpoint on the south (right when exiting the basilica) side of the colonnade, so allow time... More

Ciao Anne. The express tour is an hour shorter, therefore 2,5 hours as opposed to the 3,5 hour Vatican tour. On the express tour you don't visit The Raphael Rooms. If you have any more questions or need a hand in choosing... More
