- From Piazza della Minerva in Rome, stroll with your guide to the Pantheon. The temple is widely said to be one of Ancient Rome’s best-preserved monuments; hear its history as you explore inside with your guide. Gaze up at the huge dome, which has no visible vaults or arches to support it, and learn about the architectural achievement from your guide. Tear your eyes away from the open-air oculus, which illuminates the interior and rest them on the tombs of Rome’s bygone VIPs: The likes of Raphael and Queen Margherita were laid to rest in the Pantheon. From the ancient temple, walk across to the Basilica of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, a Gothic masterpiece built on top of pagan temples. Sculptures by Michelangelo and Bernini, 15th-century frescoes, and a Fra Angelico altar are just a few of the highlights. Your tour ends at the basilica.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Lara F0 contributionsNight food tourWent on the evening food tour with Luca. It lasted approximately 2.5 hours. We tasted salami, suplis(small versions of arancini, Roman pizza, fried artichokes and gelato. Not a huge amount of food but just right for me. All of it was very good. Luca was highly entertaining and knowledgeable. We visited the Jewish ghetto as one of our last stops and it was truly mystical at night. Highly recommend!Written 18 March 2024
- Stingydiva0 contributionsMarco is great! Book this tour! Our tour was at 5 pm and we met under the statue in the center of Campo Fiore. Family of 2 adults and 2 kids, ages 16 and 9. It had been raining most of the day and we were prepared with umbrellas and rain jackets as the tour is rain or shine. Our tour guide Marco was friendly and very passionate about Rome and the food culture. The tastings started at a salumeria/butcher shop which was fantastic. The rest of the stops included pizza, gelato and more street foods. The portions were perfect and we actually went back to eat at some of the same places during the rest of our vacation because they were so good. While walking around, Marco gave us a great tour of this particular neighborhood and historical sights along the way. This was a great tour and one of the highlights of our trip.Written 15 March 2024
- 325sadien0 contributionsGreat way to try new foods! The food tour was a wonderful way to learn about all the food Rome had to offer! The stops had variety and were delicious! We loved our guide, Arianna. She is bubbly, energetic, kind and knowledgeable and passionate about Italian food. She was incredible and we loved her so much. She made the experience one to remember!Written 15 March 2024
- D1934MDcarolyns0 contributionsTrastevere street food tourWe had an excellent guide - Daniel - who is very enthusiastic about his home city and has a good sense of humour. We tasted great local street food and would recommend this tour.Written 14 March 2024
- 551leighc0 contributionsPerfect way to lean about the cultural food of Rome!I absolutely loved this tour! I always try to do a food tour on my first evening in a new city as it helps me get my bearings a bit and learn about the local history and their food culture. Mattio was a fantastic guide and shared loads of information about both the food in the city and about the history of the city itself, showing us some very cool spots along the way. You get to try a great range of food as the tour goes on, including Roman staples like fried artichoke, suppli, Roman style pizza and gelato. It was absolutely fab - I'd definitely recommend it!Written 6 March 2024
- brin980 contributionsMix Of Good Food & Interesting HistoryVery worthwhile activity, our guide Marco was very insightful showing us pockets of interesting Roman history along the street food tasting tour. Would highly recommend it, an interesting way to explore the city.Written 6 March 2024
- joshuabH8417PU0 contributionsGreat tour with a great informative guide.Great tour. Our guide Daniele was highly knowledgeable with a great personality. For the price I feel all the food places are worth it though in the middle of the tour, once we hit the Jewish neighborhood, it felt more history tour than food. Maybe add one more Roman Jewish dish? Either way all the stops were great. Highly recommend!Written 4 March 2024
- curiouscruiser0 contributionsGreat tour- fantastic stops.Easily the BEST tour we took during our Italy trip- agreed unanimously. Each stop was fantastic, with great food, the right amount of time and education on the place and relevance to Italian culture and cuisine. We returned to 4 of the stops while we were still in Rome. Big thanks to Marco for educating us so well and a very fun time!Written 29 February 2024
- Becky W0 contributionsGreat initial introduction to the city- perfect food walking tour for your first day in Rome!Great tour- we stopped at 5 different food places along the way. Arianna our guide was amazing, so friendly and fun, lots of amazing family stories to tell us throughout the tour. She gave us tips/hints on how to order food as a ‘Real Roman!’ Her knowledge of the city was great too and she showed us some real hidden gems along the way.Written 23 February 2024
- milamilosevic0 contributionsPerfect mix of food and historyGreat tour overall, excellent food choices, Luca the chef was awesome! We ate so well (loved the suppli!) and learned a lot of history along the way. Definitely recommended! Thank you Luca for a great intro to the Roman culture!🇮🇹Written 20 February 2024
- L4728EAastrids0 contributionsWell worth the money as they take you to some of the best street food places! Our initial booking was re-arranged by the tour group due to staff sickness, but communication was spot ensuring they accommodate us. This was a bonus as our tour guide Mattio was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable with a quirky sense of humour that kept us all glued to his words. We started off with the butchers tour and a bit of wine, followed by suppli a few blocks away! We made our way for pizza and beer with a few tales along the way; then the Jewish town for fried artichokes, followed by arguably the best gelato in Rome. Absolutely well worth it and value for money as we were stuffed! If you can, ask for Mattio, he’s passion for Rome is contagious!!!!Written 20 February 2024
- sdenkak20140 contributionsGreat food and tour!Great tour and food! Luca our tour guide was great and shared many historical and interesting facts while we walked around.Written 18 February 2024
- debbied5840 contributionsTasty and atmosphericOur guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local produce, also the fascinating history of the area around Campo de' Fiori. The tour kicked off with a visit to the delightful Norcinarea Viola where we tasted the meats and wines of Romagna, followed by a trip around the colourful food market to sample various oils, balsamic vinegars and local cheeses. We loved hearing about the history of the underground theatre and the old Jewish area. We sampled a variety of different foods and learned a lot about local dishes. The tour ended with a cone of delicious Italian ice cream. A great way to spend a few hours in Rome! It would be helpful to state that the tour starts at the statue in the centre of the square. We were waiting by the fountain and worrying we couldn't see our party as the market is very busy.Written 12 February 2024
- Quest502574562360 contributionsA highlight of our tripWe were met by Maria our guide and Matteo who was training as a guide. Both were excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. We visited 7 places to try out different local foods. We particularly enjoyed the fried artichokes, the Romano pizzas, pastas, tiramisu and gelato. The whole evening was very entertaining and seemed well worth the money. Highly recommended.Written 5 February 2024
- Gilliancrantock0 contributionsDo not miss this experienceFrancesca our guide was full of local knowledge, not just about food but history too! We explored a part of Rome that was off the beaten tourist track, and absolutely amazing! Lots of little alleyways with hidden foodie gems! The choice of foods was delicious and a perfect way to spend an evening, strolling the streets, eating delicious food, wine, beer, and gelato! Absolutely worth it!Written 4 February 2024

We enjoyed the tour, and would recommend Virginia as a guide. Some unfortunate circumstances dampened our experience. The cathedral that was part of the tour is in renovation, so, was not accessible. There was rain and wet streets. So, our timing factored in on our overall enjoyment.

We had been told the wrong meeting place to meet, so we started our tour later than expected. However, the tour guide (I forgot his name) did an amazing job summing up the most important aspects of the Pantheon and Santa Maria Minerva in the short amount of time we had left for the tour. The tour company even refunded our money since it wasn't our fault for getting there late. Very pleased and would recommend the tour.

I guess we were quite lucky that our group of three were the only people on this tour this day. Our tour guide was Mattia and he was great. He told us a lot about the Pantheon that we didn't know, was very much into telling us about the sites around and near the pantheon and also took us to a local church with an amazing history and an illusional three dimensional ceiling. He made the tour so very interesting and I would recommend him highly--Many thanks.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, but was a little hard to understand with their thick accent and sometimes went off on tangents. We didn't actually climb the steps at all, but I don't think we missed out on anything. Trevi fountain was packed with people, but that's no fault of the tour operator. Pantheon was spectacular, though we had to line up for about 10-15 minutes before we could get in. The ice cream was incredible!

We were lucky enough to be assigned Mattias as our guide. He was fluent, knowledgeable and completely engaged as he took us around the agreed sites. He clearly had a love for his subject and at no point did he appear to be reeling off from a script. It really was a delight to spend this time with him and his knowledge was second to none. I would recommend this tour, this company and this guide unequivocally

Surprisingly, I was the only visitor on this tour, primarily due to the low season however this only worked in my favour. The tour lasted approx. 2.5 hours and was consistent with interesting and a depth of information in which was greatly beneficial to me. My tour guide (Virginia) was lovely. Being that of my second last day in Rome it was nice to go home on such a positive note and thankful for this tour being one of the best I've been on.

Yes but it is a church, so play safe and make sure they are long shorts, most church's say no shorts, but as long as shoulders are covered and not "riggers" type short shorts you should be fine
