Itinerary

The papal audience is a long-standing tradition that’s attended by both pilgrims and people of diverse backgrounds from all over the world. On this tour, you’re guaranteed seamless admission to this extremely popular weekly event. Meet your guide near St. Peter’s Square in the morning and don an audio headset, which will allow you to clearly hear his or her commentary throughout the tour.

Next, cut through the crowds and find a prime viewing position right at the front of the room. Learn about the history of the papacy and other stories from your guide.

When the event begins, you’ll be perfectly situated to listen to the Pope’s address, watch the cardinals lead pilgrims in prayer, and listen to the hymns, prayers, and homilies that are a traditional part of the papal audience.

When the event is over, you can explore St. Peter’s Square at your leisure.

Not worth the money

We booked the tour guide expecting to beat the queue & to have running commentary during the experience. All the guide did was take us to the queue behind hundreds of other people. When going through security she left us behind leaving us to fend...More

Misleading service!

Tickets for the papal audience are ALWAYS AND WHATEVER TOTALLY FREE. Only the Holy See Prefecture can give tickets, but they must be booked before, throught the official website and collected personally or by a group leader in Vatican City. No other way to join...More

Waste of money and poorly organised

Anyone can attend a Papal Audience. It is free. City Wonders (and other guides) charge money for very little from what I could see. They didn't skip any queues and the seats I saw the tour groups get were no better than any others. As...More

A visit with the Pope

For anyone traveling to Rome going to the Vatican is a must. But if your schedule permits twice a week, usually on Sundays and Wednesdays the Pope will actually convene a mass and a blessing for up to 40,000 people on the Plaza. If you...More

The earlier you go, the better a seat you get. The pope comes around 9:30 am - the whole thing lasts an hour or so
