Overview
Explore Vatican City, with time-saving skip-the-line access, in the company of a guide. Visit the Vatican Museums (admission ticket price not included), the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica in a single, half-day walking tour. Get insider info on these must-see Rome attractions through your guide’s commentary, guaranteed to reveal little-known facts.
What to Expect
Choose a start time that fits your schedule, and then meet your guide outside the entrance to the Vatican Museums. Skip waiting in the often-long lines for tickets and pay your guide directly for admission (not included in tour price).

Step inside and begin your tour. Your guide will narrate an orientation and give in-depth commentary on the highlights of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel as you walk.

Explore Raphael’s Rooms, and hear stories behind works such as the School of Athens, a piece that features images of Michelangelo and Raphael. Pass through halls such as the Gallery of the Masks and Gallery of the Maps. Then, make your way into the Sistine Chapel. A sacred spot and the private papal chapel, the Sistine Chapel is also renowned for its Michelangelo frescoes—The Last Judgement and The Creation of Adam.

Continue to St. Peter’s Basilica, where you'll see Michelangelo’s famous La Pietà. Before wrapping up your tour outside the church, take a moment to rub the foot of the statue of St. Peter for luck.

Opt to upgrade your experience with a before-hours, small-group tour or an after-hours tour (St. Peter's Basilica not included), when the premises are closed to the public.

Although having a guide is useful to know what you’re looking at and get lots of information, with the Vatican being so busy I’m not sure it’s totally worth it as you have to keep moving to make it through on time you can’t stop...More

Amazing tour. But, as with any tour, the experience is only as good as the tour guide. We had a great guide, who clearly loved his job. It was breath taking to see the art and frustrating to see the amazing wealth, that in my...More

I Actually have question. Can you bring in backpacks with water bottles on the skip the line tour? We are going tomorrow and would like me to plan ahead and not be stuck throwing out our bottles.

Have not done that tour because we lived in Rome. The stairway is quite long and spirals up; however, the view(s) make it worthwhile. Camera, good lens, a must!
