3-Volcanoes Guided Walking Tour from Lanzarote
From US$49,75
Overview
Walking alone in Lanzarote’s Los Volcanes Natural Park may mean you only scratch the surface of its main sights and volcanic terrain. Get up-close to three volcanoes—La Rilla, Montana Colorada, and Volcan del Cuervo—and learn about their geology and wildlife from a guide on this small-group walking tour. Refreshments, 4x4 transport, and hotel transfers mean everything’s taken care of, so you can just focus on the scenery.
What to Expect
Book your preferred date and leave your hotel by air-conditioned vehicle for Los Volcanes Natural Park inside Timfanaya National Park. Wear closed shoes to tackle the loose lava stones along the relatively easy, approximate 3.7-mile (6-kilometer) walk.

View the lunar-like terrain and learn how volcanic eruptions in the 1700s and 1800s gave Lanzarote 32 new volcanoes—many situated in the park.

Travel to your first crater—La Rilla—and ascend by foot. Absorb the views from the rim and hear about the crater’s formation and wildlife as you refuel with refreshments.

Continue by 4x4 to the red-hued Montana Colorada cone. Hike around the base and inspect various geological features, including the world’s biggest ‘volcanic bomb’—a gigantic rock blown from the volcano.

Finally, drive to Volcan del Cuervo and enter its crater. Admire the lava formations and watch for rare Berbery falcons here before your tour concludes at your hotel.

Great volcano experience

3 very different volcanoes with an excellent guide. Easy to moderate walking, but closed shoes are essential, - that volcanic ash gets everywhere. The guide is very knowledgeable and welcomes questions on any subject,- he also has a keen interest in birds and is active...More

We absolutely loved the tour! The two very friendly guides took us (a total of ten people) with both a Landrover and a small van to three volcanoes. There was a lot of hiking, but also plenty of stops inbetween where guide Adolpho would explain...More

I think most people can do this walking tour, unless you are in pretty bad shape. The most challenging parts of the tour were when we had to walk through loose volcanic sand, which can be straining, but you don't have to do... More
