This is a fantastic whistle-stop tour of Dresden Old Town that’s particularly well-suited for visitors who are short on time and want to see the city’s top historic sites. Get the most out of your experience by having a guide give you historical background information, as you traverse Dresden’s famous plazas and boulevards. Stops include Theater Square, the Royal Palace, and the Zwinger.

What to Expect

After meeting your guide, your tour of the magical Old Town of Dresden begins. See more in a short time while learning about the impact World War II had and how the city worked hard to reconstruct its historical monuments. There will be plenty of regal sites to see, including the Royal Cathedral, the Royal Palace, and the Royal Mews, which contains a mural depicting a parade of rulers known as the “Procession of Princes.”

See the Church of Our Lady and also the lively Theater Square, which is full of monuments and museums. Another highlight is the Zwinger, a beautiful baroque-style palace. This is a fantastic, action-packed tour, which gives a glimpse into Dresden’s fascinating past and how the city rebuilt itself.

Dresden at its best

The perfect way to see Dresden is by walking and Dresden Walks offer the most pleasant way of sight seeing. Our tour guide was a local and that added more flavour to the tour, as she told us stories with a more personal flare! This...More

My wife and I absolutely loved this tour despite the fact that it was pretty cold and a little rainy. Karen our guide was excellent - full of knowledge and enthusiasm for Dresden and so generous with her time. We came to Dresden with little...More

This tour was only about 2 hours. We had a great guide -- she was enthusiastic, and she packed in so much information. It might have run a little over, but not much. It was more than worth the money and our time.

I imagine that if there's less than a certain number of people, there'd be no problem in joining at the last minute. There were only about 8-10 people on our tour -- plenty of room for more. Then again, it was the end of... More

Its possible, our group had two people who just walked by join in a couple minutes before departure. They paid for their tickets and walked with us. Our group wasn't too large though, so that might've been a factor.
