About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Klux20140 contributionsPrivate Tour to Heidelberg was NOT PrivateI made reservations with Fux Fahrservice & Touristik for "Heidelberg Castle and City PRIVATE Day Tour from Frankfurt". When my party of 3, ages 9-71, arrived at the meeting point there were already 3 other people in the van. The guide said "it's more or less private". NO it was a small group not a private tour. As we had no time to make other arrangements and a refund was not offered we took the tour. The guide Guenther was knowledgeable but sometimes his commentary was drowned out by the van motor when we were in the back seat. We had adequate time at the Castle but were rushed during our free time in the old part of town. No time to enjoy lunch. Maybe the tour needs to be longer. Odd - This tour does not appear on Tripadvisor or Viator anymore. I would not use this company again.Written 9 April 2024
- J3526IDdonnad0 contributionsMichael is excellentMichael was such a professional and so kind and knowledgeable about Frankfurt, Heidelberg and Rothenburg. The van was very clean and Michael took extra measures to make the trip special and memorable. Wish we had more time to do another tour with him. I would highly recommend. My first choice castle tour to Eltz castle was canceled by the tour company and this was offered in its place. Heidelberg castle is very easy to navigate on your own, and I would have preferred that much more. (If you don't need 15-plus minutes of commentary standing in one spot while lots of people walk by, highly recommend that you ask the tour guide what time to return to the entrance once he hands you your ticket. Wine tasting, snacks, and other things are available to purchase but not offered if you are stuck with the tour guide).
Town square stop was nice but only had enough time to eat, not explore as there was too much time spent standing around at the castle. The tour guide was a safe driver and was very nice, he even had extra umbrellas available to use for the rain.

This outing was the highlight of our Germany Trip. Micheal is a knowledgeable and personable guide. Heidelberg is an enchanting city with so much history. The castle was a great start and was followed by a visit to the city center where the Christmas Market was on, which made the visit even more perfect. We highly recommend this outing with Michael.

Heidelberg is a beautiful city and the castle a different experience from the castles I have visited, I was surprised by the Pharmacology Museum where Bayer developed its First-timers. The Guide was very pleasant and enjoyable, very knowledgeable about world history and involving visitors. The places to eat and drink coffee in the old town of Heidelberg are very nice.

This day trip from Frankfurt seems like a great way to explore the beautiful city of Heidelberg. The tour includes a visit to the historic Heidelberg Castle, which offers stunning views of the city. You'll also get to walk through the charming medieval town center, seeing the Old Bridge, the Karlstor, the Renaissance House zum Ritter, and the Heiliggeistkirche. If you're short on time but want to see the highlights of Heidelberg, this tour seems like a perfect option.

Excellent but book directly with company. The tour is great and good value when compared to train ticket price. Pick up in central location by a charming guide - Michael.
I booked with Get your Guide and the tour was 140€, but if you book directly with the company, it’s only 125€.

On the 4/1/2024 my husband and I had the pleasure to be guided to Heidelberg by Michael. I must say, Michael is an incredibly knowledgeable guide. We had a commentary in the van on the way to the castle which was both informative and enjoyable. At the castle, we were told many stories about the history of the castle and its inhabitants. We were not rushed at all by Michael and he was willing and able to respond to any questions we had. Michael was not only a great guide but was also kind and caring to his clients needs. Michaels van was modern and very comfortable. We had an hour and a half in Heidelberg at the end of the tour. Heidelberg is a beautiful town to explore.
I would not hesitate in recommending Michael for the Heidelberg castle tour or any other tour he operates. Unfortunately we only had two days in Frankfurt. If we had of had more days, we certainly would have booked additional tours.

So happy I booked this trip to Heidelberg! Michel was so knowledgeable about the castle and Germany in general. Schloss Heidelberg is amazing to see. He pointed out sites and interesting facts the whole drive there. After taking us through and around the castle he left us to explore the little town, shops and restaurants for lunch. The van was comfortable and immaculately clean. He was willing to pick me up in Egelsberg for a small additional fee. I was traveling on business, staying in a small town a half hour away from Frankfurt, and only had a day to see sights. This worked out perfect for me. Michel, thank you so much!
P.S. keep enjoying those gorgeous grandkids!

Had the tour with Guenter today and it was fantastic. His knowledge of the history of the castle was great. He walked us through it in the time sequence of what happened and took time to point out details and their significance. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone wanting this tour.

Michael, our guide and owner, provided a lot of information, kept an immaculate van, and delivered us safely. HOWEVER, this was advertised as a private tour, says so right on the ticket and reservation. It is not private, it is shared with others not in your reservation. In addition, the tour promises "After visiting the castle, we walk through the medieval center to the old bridge and the Karlstor, the Renaissance House of the Knights and the Heiliggeistkirche." We did NONE of that. We were dropped at the square and told when to meet back. Two misrepresentations are too many. I would not trust this tour operator.

Not only a chance to experience the magnificence of Heidelberg Castle and to walk the streets below, Michael’s knowledge of the area provided great incite into the history of the area.
Fantastic for two Aussies who were first time visitors to Frankfurt.
I would certainly recommend spending a day with Michael when visiting Frankfurt.
