    What to Expect
Board the coach in central Frankfurt for a 4-hour journey south to Füssen. Travel along the famous Romantic Road to one of Germany’s most popular attractions, Neuschwanstein Castle. a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace nestled on top of a rugged hill high above the village of Hohenschwangau, near Füssen, in southwest Bavaria. This stunning fairy tale palace was the inspiration for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty and it’s one of the most popular of all the castles or palaces in Europe, drawing 1.4 million visitors each year.

Skip the typically long lines to get inside and enjoy a narrated walking tour of this medieval masterpiece (multilingual audio guide available). Explore rooms like Minstrel’s Hall, the Byzantine Throne Room and many more. Learn about the castle’s architect, King Ludwig II of Bavaria, and explore the terraces, grounds and gardens outside as well.

After the tour, shop for souvenirs, grab lunch (own expense) and take photos against the stunning backdrop of the Bavarian mountains.

Then it’s a 3-hour drive north to the picturesque town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Join a walking tour and follow the guide through the town’s winding, cobbled lanes. See the half-timbered houses, the Renaissance Town Hall and the almost fairy tale appearance of the majestic town gates that welcome Rothenburg’s many visitors from near and far.

The tour ends with a return trip to Frankfurt.

First off, no where does this specify the length of drive. You go about 2.5 hours to Rothensburg (get food for lunch - you get two slices of bread with a slice of cheese and water). From there its about another 3 hours to Austria....More

The castle is very nice and is worth visiting. However, the vehicle that brought us there was small (may be not enough people joined) and was not comfortable. The tour guide is more like a driver plus a bit of information giving.

I was a bit disappointed with this tour as I was picked up 1/2 hour late and we didn't leave Frankfurt until around 9:00-9:15 a.m. There were 5 of us on the tour and we traveled by van. Our driver Millian was nice but was...More

I went to this castle about 40 years ago, it was still as a castle, now there are iron gates and auto gates to get in. You are rush thru and don't get the chance to enjoy the castle.

Not sure if they pickup and drop, but the Intercon Frankfurt is less than 5 minutes by walk from the pickup point. Hope this helps.
