Lovely trip but long drive with unsafe driver
Trip was lovely and the sights were beautiful. However, did not feel safe with the driver /guide Willy as he was using his mobile phone without handsfree earphones, at times speaking for more than 10mins and then at times texting or checking his text. This is especially dangerous on the way back on the Autobahn with heavy traffic!

      Ask for Willi!!
We planned a last minute trip to Frankfurt and booked this trip last minute. Willi, our tour guide was exceptional! He was very informative and kept the tour interesting, even during some of the longer drive times. We had our three young children with us (5 year old and 3 year old twins) and he never let their restlessness at some points bother him and interacted with them at any chance he had. He went above and beyond for our tour, and I would be willing to book any other trip that Willi was the tour guide for! The tour themselves were great. We got to see 2 different smaller towns in Germany, as well as Strausborg in France. We went on a Sunday so not many shops were open and it was less crowded but this made it so much better for us with having smaller children to keep track of. Us doing it in a cooler month also made it less crowded which enabled us to see more. Don’t be afraid to book this tour cause it’s cooler out! You won’t regret

Beautiful, relaxing, and worth every penny
This was an absolutely incredible trip. Our guide took time to walk through the bus and talk to each group personally. He welcomed questions about the country and the area. The restaurant was so unique, the local food was great, and we really enjoyed the wine tasting. We wish would have purchased some! The boat cruise was top knotch. I would recommend purchasing a guide book before getting on the boat to tell about the castles you'll see on the way. There's a shop right by the boat, and our guide recommended the best book option. Would highly recommend this trip!

      Wonderful fun experience!
Excellent! Went in the off season so we had a small group—allowed for a lot of interaction with the amazing tour guide, Willi! He had so much knowledge and was super fun and hilarious! The cruise was perfect and oh my goodness, the restaurant where we had lunch was an experience in itself! Highly recommended!

      Uncomfortable & disorganised
We were picked up in a Ford Transit van, 6 adults squeezed uncomfortably in the back where for more than 3 hours you felt every bump in the road. Then on our way to visit listed sites we suddenly did a u turn as the driver has mistimed the boat, the only one operating for the day…..we were lucky he found it? Then lunch, again the only place he could get to open just for us was a disappointment, food average at best and then we had to pay for water & coffee……..other unhappy travellers challenged the host as to why we were not going back to the sites, eventually relenting we drove an an additional hour in the van to drive past the site. Most businesses in the little villages were closed, which the host repeated regularly. Suggest they should not operate in winter.

      Extortion attempt!
The places I saw were beautiful but this trip was completely tarnished by a greedy tour guide who, on the way back, when we were stopped in Baden Baden, wanted to invoice me for extra hours on the trip. We hadn't even reached the posted time for the trip yet. I prepaid over $1,500 for this trip. We didn't do any special stops at my request - we only did the things that were highlighted in the itinerary. All the way back to Frankfurt, I was interrogated about how much I paid, how many other trips I was booked on and the total I paid. Coincidentally, I met a couple on my Rhine tour the next day who took the same tour, paid the same amount for two people, started the tour at the same time I did (9:30 am) and arrived back in Frankfurt at the same time I did. They were not subjected to extortion attempts for more money!! I ended up giving the driver EUR 200 cash when he dropped me off because he made me feel obligated. What a royal rip-off! Fair warning to the solo traveler - you will instantly be targeted in an extortion attempt to pay much, much more for the trip than what it was worth. Incidentally, I took a number of tours while I was in Frankfurt (with larger groups, thankfully) some of which were longer than this one, and none of the tourists were harassed to pay more. I would like an explanation for this extraordinarily dishonest behavior please.

Great tour. Both the tour guide as well as the bus driver were very polite. The tour guide was very informative . Aside from the weather, the boat trip on the Rhein was very nice.

Köln & Hidden Gem of Limburg
We were in Frankfurt for the Chiefs game & wanted to explore nearby cities. Since it was the beginning of the tourism offseason, our group was very small (6). We spent plenty of time at the cathedral, strolling the river walk area, & walking through town. We also took a touristy tram ride around downtown. We were not given any free time to eat or shop. We then drove to Limburg, an extremely charming village with an ancient cathedral. It was so lovely but most everything was closed. It was a great way to spend a full day outside of Frankfurt & learn more about the area & its history. The guide was personable & fluent in German, English, & Spanish.

Full day is shorter than expected, but still wonderful.
Beautiful scenery. Tour guide was engaging and humorous. Cruise was much shorter than expected, but still beautiful. Restaurant experience was excellent, with the exception of an (very) angry cook who yelled at the tour guide for some reason. Sit on the left side of the bus on the outward journey, you will be rewarded with many more castles on your side of the bus.

A nice way to see the area!
This was a nice way to see the Rhine and the towns and castles along the way. The tour operator seemed a bit chaotic at the outset since there were more than 10 times the number of people usually signed up for the tour this time of year, but the group was split into two buses and approached the tour in opposite directions, so it all worked out just fine. The restaurant we stopped at had unique decor, but the food (I had the schnitzel) was good. The wine tasting was at the same location. Very small pours, but it was fine. The wine tasting was short. I had hoped for more commentary along the river on the boat, but my Rick Steves guide book added some information on the area. I enjoyed a couple of beverages on the boat with friends made on the tour. After the river cruise, we were taken to a monument high on the hill overlooking the valley for a short stop before returning to Frankfurt.

      A must tour to take
I love the Rhein but this was my first experience cruising on it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us good history on the bus, in the restaurant and in the river cruise. History, I love learning still at 65.

      Great day in Germany
We had a great time. It was a wonderful way to see a couple of traditional German cities in a day. Thomas, our guide, was great and it was nice to have a very small group. I highly recommend.

This half day trip to Heidelberg to Frankfurt is perfect if you have limited time. Fortunately for us we had our own VIP tour of Heidleberg with George since a few others were no shows (probably due to weather)! Although overcast and looked like rain, we did not experience any rain while touring. The tour of old town and the time we were able to walk around by ourselves was just enough to explore some of the shops. Also, witnessed the setting up of Christmas Market which is a week or two away.
We visited the castle that overlooked Heidelberg. The view was breathtaking to say the least. The history and all of the information George provided us was perfect! The way he presented his information held our attention and the history was very detailed! Not to mention the laughs we had while he was giving us the information!
He knew of the best locations to take photos and took family photos for us! Easier than taking awkward selfies -- we didn't even have to ask him!
Overall, this tour was long enough (informative) and short enough (if time is lacking) for a quick trip to Heidelberg, a quaint town with so much history. I am only hopeful you are lucky enough to have George as your guide! Thanks George for the wonderful, informative tour!

So my best friend and I went in front of Le Meridien and our tour never came! The man from the Strasbourg tour had to contact their company and said that we were waiting. They said that for the past few weeks there was insufficient people that came hence they cancelled it.

They never even informed us about the cancellation so that’s a WHOLE day gone for us! Our day was wasted.

This trip was pretty awful. Heidelberg is cute enough, but extremely touristy, and the castle isn't actually that involved/interesting; it's just got a good lookout point, but to actually explore inside the castle is an entirely different ticket/tour experience.

That said, it may still have been a fun half day trip (because what else is there to do in Frankfurt) but the driver/guide we had was incredibly offensive and racist, and it was deeply upsetting. Throughout the trip he made a lot of jokes about "Chinese" and "Oriental" people, and on the drive back we got stuck in traffic and he went on a rant about how Chancellor Merkel opened the borders to immigrants but how Germany isn't meant to be a "nation of immigrants" and then complained about welfare cheats. [This was not helped by the other participants of the tour, who joined in to complain about immigrants in the US and Canada, too.]

I definitely wouldn't book this trip if I were you; look into a train from Frankfurt and read fun facts on Wikipedia, instead. Cheaper and less offensive.

Heidelberg is a beautiful city and the castle is one of the few intact castles I visited in Germany. Peter was an excellent guide and 8 person maximum allowed us each to ask questions and hear what he had to say. There was time for shopping and lunch in town before we boarded the van back to Frankfurt. The tour was a good length and provided a good overall sense of Heidelberg.

Very good tour. The city of Heidelberg and the castle was beautiful. Our guide was informative and very nice but took a long time to explain his points of interest and move onto the next thing. He would often repeat himself making it hard to keep the tour group going at a good pace. The result was that we had very little time to spend in Old Town Heidelberg. It’s worth the visit though.

The ruins were great, but the guide left us no time to eat anything or do any shopping. Also, he didn't let us know that we wouldn't be going back to the car in the same spot, so we missed being able to take pictures or even look at the statues located in the former royal gardens. Also, he would not stop for anyone to go into the castle gift shop. Very disappointed to go all that way to Heidelberg and have nothing but a few quickly snapped photos to show for it.

The bus/van was way too small. Very tiny seats and w 19 people it was over packed. Was very uncomfortable to ride so long squished together. It put people in a bad mood for the money paid for this tour not happy with the transport.

Guide did good knowlegable. but talks low. Which sometimes is hard to hear perhaps a microphone w speaker might help when outside

Guide was knowledgable and friendly, the castle was really interesting, especially the world's largest wine barrel. The town was super cute. The restaurant we chose for lunch had average food, but that is not the tour guide's fault. Nice van, timely pickup, and overall an enjoyable and relaxing day for a tour while traveling by myself.

It was a great tour and the guide (Peter) was knowledgeable and funny. I wish we had some more time at the castle as well as in the old town of Heidelberg. It may help to add about half an hour to each venue to truly enjoy it. I definitely recommend the tour not only to see Heidelberg also learn about the history of surrounding areas.

The time spent at the castle felt very rushed, but we were allotted more time in the city to explore on our own thankfully. If you’re wanting to take your time and walk the grounds of Heidelberg, I suggest picking a different option. Our tour guide was fantastic, I just think the time was not sufficient.
