What to expect
  • Meet your group, guide, and coach in central Munich in front of the Karstadt department store, across from the main railway station. After boarding your coach, sit back and relax on the ride to Dachau. Pass by the town as you make your way to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. At the memorial site, start by watching a documentary film about the Nazi camp, and then go on a guided tour. See old photographs, documents, the administration headquarters, areas where prisoners were held, and even the “Arbeit macht frei” plastered on the main camp gates. Gain a better understanding about the seriousness of WWII and the destruction the German Nazis had on their country and the world. Afterward, set out on your own, and explore the museum exhibits, as well as other parts of the camp that interest you. Later, meet back at your coach for the short ride to the SS (Schutzstaffel) shooting range in Hebertshausen. The shooting range lies about 1.2 miles (2 km) away from the memorial site, and is rarely, if ever, visited by other tours. It’s the area where prisoners of war were executed by Nazi soldiers. Visit exhibits here, and learn more about the solemn Holocaust history. Your tour ends with a ride back to Munich aboard your coach. Please note: It's advised that you bring your own lunch, or eat during your free time at the cafeteria.

Avoid grayline tours
Jul 2019 • Couples
This review is of the company and not the historically important dachau site. We were told to arrive 20 minutes before departure time. The bus arrived 45 minutes AFTER the departure time. Their excuse was the grayline bus had to drive an airline crew to the airport. Unless it was a crew of 50, i think that a poor use of a double decker bus which should have been contractually committed to us when they sold us the tour package. The guide could not keep track of the number of people on our tour and actually left someone behind. The site itself is very educational but i wish we had seen the documentary and explored the well done museum exhibit before we walked the grounds.

Sobering
Martina was a person whose family was impacted by being Germans and Jewish on different sides of the families. No apologies only insights to the emotional climate of this time period. We could not have asked for a more forthcoming knowledgable guide.

Apr 2019 • Couples
We visited Dachau concentration camp on Sunday 21st April with our excellent guide Martina who gave us a very insightful and unbiased tour. The information that she gave us was so interesting and we found it brought this whole part of history alive. She didn’t sugarcoat what happened and we would highly recommend this tour.

Necessary Evil (so not to forget)
This is a place that represents an evil time in history and that existed to exploit and exterminate (mostly Jewish) people; Dachau and all of the surrounding camps served pure sociopathic evil. It’s preservation is of paramount importance so as to not allow for opportunity to forget or claim fallacy of a dark time. There is a hauntingly serene feeling that falls over Dachau as you walk the grounds, read the exhibits, and try to comprehend what life (and death) must have been like here. It is a sobering, humbling, sickening place that must be seen and experienced.

Heart touching experience - unforgetable
Sep 2018 • Solo
I visited Dachau camp on Sunday 23rd of September 2018. The tour was great and it really hit home to see how the Nazis treated the Jews and how the camp was used as a "school of violence". I have watched so many Hollywood movies on this issue but none of the movies really conveys the real environment that occurred bank in 1940's at this camp.

I shared a tear of pain and sorrow to find out exactly how things happened back then and how bid the execution program was.

I thank our tour guide Gordon, an Irishman who speaks fluent German, because he was simply terrific. And above all, Gordon showed tremendous respect for the victims that died at this camp. The tour would not have been the same without his excellent skills and professional approach to this very sensitive part of history.

Let this terrible time of mankind never happen again. My condolences to the victims and to the surviving relatives.

No words
No words can describe Dachau Concentration Camp. So I don’t attempt to do so. Stephon was a terrific Tour Guide. We also visited Hebertshausen shooting Range where 4000 Russians had been murdered in 1941-42.
I do recommend this 6 hour tour. Say a
Silent prayer and end with “Never Again”

Stunning. Every Munich visitor should visit this site.
Jul 2018 • Couples
This site simply cannot be described. A visit is emotional, shocking and scary, especially so in todays world of disturbing leadership, tribalism, racism and religious bigotry. This tour maximizes the experience with detailed information on the rise of Hitler and the subsequent development of camps such as Dachau. Details are then provided on the means of managing these facilities and the diabolical cleverness of the SS ways to dehumanize and torture their captives. Our guide, Lucy, was well educated on the subject and passionate in her delivery. She was excellent! This is the BEST TOUR I'VE EVER BEEN ON and I'll remember it for the rest of my life.
