Overview
Visiting Bavaria’s magical Neuschwanstein Castle by train makes it an even more memorable experience. On this tour, relax on the ride from Munich to Fussen, where you’ll have the option to walk or catch a carriage ride up to the castle. Save valuable vacation time by getting skip-the-line access, and learn about the site’s fascinating history with an included guided tour. Note: Coach travel replaces train during certain months.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with a roughly 2-hour train ride from Munich through the German countryside to Fussen. Note that the train is seasonal, offered during January through April and mid-October through November, and you’ll be traveling by coach otherwise. When you arrive, walk 20 minutes up the hill to the castle or opt for a carriage ride.

The price of the tour doesn’t include your castle entrance fee, but you can pay it directly to the tour company on the day of your visit. And by booking in advance, you’ll receive skip-the-line access.

Visit the castle interiors and towers, and get the photo ops and views of surrounding attractions including a lake, waterfall gorge, and Hohenschwangau Castle. Listen while your guide tells stories about the tragic reign of the “mad” 19th-century Bavarian king who commissioned the building of the castle.

Finish the day with a return ride back to Munich.

What a wonderful day tour! Charlie went above and beyond in his explanations about the history of King Ludwig II. His knowledge of the history of the castle and it's inhabitant were beyond what one would expect from a tour guide; he really knew his...More

Great trip, amazing views

Thomas was a great guide, plenty of history and left us to explore at our own pace. It is a very long day though, so perhaps if there were a shorter option. Then it would be 5 stars.

The Neuschwanstein Castle tour is a great introduction to Bavarian culture.

The Neuschwanstein Castle tour is a great introduction to Bavarian culture. We had great guides (Danny and Suzanne) who shared the history of Ludwig II, why he built the castle and his fascination with the composer Wagner. Something of a sad story but the architecture...More

Yes he took care of tickets for the group. He can not go in with us. He will meet the group right outside the gift shop. Where else right?

Sorry, I am not familiar with cancelling policy, you need to check your voucher. However, castle entrance fee is 14 euro additional which you pay when you check in. So at least you don't have to worry about that part
