Great guided tour with a super energetic guide!
Feb 2020
Wow! This was our first trip to Paris and the third museum in Paris (Versailles 1st, Louvre 2nd) and it was the most animated, entertaining tour of the three. Of course, as a private tour the personal touches were greater. Maurizio was very knowlegeable, energetic, and entertaining - he made up lots of stories about the art to try to give a feel for who the artists were as people and what they might have been thinking as they created their art. I had a great time learning about great Impressionist artists. I highly recommend this tour.

D’Orsay Museum: an indispensable visit in Paris.
Dec 2019 • Family
Our visit to the D’Orsay Museum was very rewarding. The guide, Mrs. Catherine, provided us with a very pleasant afternoon, showing details and curiosities about several important works of art of the Museum, paintings and sculptures. The D’Orsay Museum has a very rich collection and the architecture of the place delights visitors. A highly recommended visit. The guided tour is very important.

Book with a tour group that is more reliable....
Dec 2019
We booked a private tour with A Taste of Paris for Musee d'Orsay, "Paid and Confirmed" but we were stood-up. We were early to the meeting place, by the rhino, and stood out if freezing cold for about an hour trying to reach someone from this company but no one ever answered the phone or e-mails. I would also mention that their phone number is not European but rather in the States, so don't be fooled by their name...They are not in Paris. They are not local. And there is no one available for help if the need arises as they are literally impossible to reach. Anyway, we were out of luck on getting into the museum since they had our tickets and all other options, before we had to leave Paris, were booked. Besides getting up early, standing outside in the cold the worst part is they actually keep us from being able to book with a real tour guide for this experience since we thought we had a plan. Definitely not a professional group and you will do better to book with a company that is reputable/shows-up. By the way, I have never heard from them directly...I finally got resolution by contracting Viator/TA. No apologies, no we'll refund you right away, nothing. Crickets. Luckily I booked through Tripadvisor or I would still be trying to get a refund.

Our guide, Christophe was very knowledgeable about the history of the artist and the paintings. He did seem to rush a bit and was constantly checking his watch. Other than that it was an excellent tour.

We met our guide, she was able to get us into the museum quickly. She talked a little too much about certain artists.

Amazing!!! Ana was so knowledge and a pleasure to be with! I got so much more out of the museum than if we went in alone. Real art treasures explained and art evolution revealed!!

Our guide David was extremely knowledgeable but kept the group fully engaged with his humor and his expertise. And additionally, he was a delightful gentleman. Kudos to David. If you have the chance to go to the d'Orsay, do not miss the opportunity.

Not worth the money
Oct 2019
The tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the topic. That said, 1.5 hours was not enough time to dig into the museum and we spent another couple hours after buying the audio tour to go back around. It was truly private - it was the tour guide and my wife and I.

Benefits:
Really interested and engaging tour guide
We enjoyed learning about the transition from NeoClassicism to the newer artists in the Impressionists and Neo-Impressionists work

Drawbacks:
Too short - we had a 3 hour tour at the Louvre and that seems like a better duration
Very expensive - we did about 8 tours through tripadvisor over a week in Paris and this was by far the most expensive - $225 - and it didn't include the tickets + $30
Line Skip - skipped the line to enter the building, but had to get in line to buy the tickets

RIP Off
My guide was informed and passionate but at the end of my 1 1/2 hour (excluding entry fees) tour for $225 I'm sure she didn't benefit financially and I certainly didn't think 1 1/2 at $225 was an appropriate price. This is NOT a guide complaint. It's a Taste of Paris critique.
