What to expect
In the morning, meet your guide at a central location in Paris and take the RER train together for a 30-minute ride to Versailles. A short walk later, arrive at the gilded gates of the Palace of Versailles. The gardens and forests of Versailles span 1,976 acres (800 hectares), and are crisscrossed by a network of picturesque trails and tree-lined paths. Follow your guide on a 2-hour walking tour of the grounds, and learn about the palace’s history, the royal family including Marie Antoinette, and the French Revolution. If you’re here during the summer, make sure to check out the spectacular Versailles fountain display or musical gardens show that takes places on select days (included with your tour). See below for more details. Next, make your way to the Palace of Versailles, where your guide bids you farewell and gives you your skip-the-line entrance ticket, audio guide and return train ticket. Stroll past the entrance lines and enter the palace immediately. See the King's State Apartments and Chapel, and walk through the unforgettable Hall of Mirrors, where the treaty ending WWI was signed. Your audio-guide takes you around the highlights of the palace and provides historical background. Take as much as you’d like to discover the sprawling palace. When you’re ready to leave Versailles, hop on the train to Paris with your provided train ticket.

HIghlight of trip to Paris
Aug 2019
Had a great time on this well organized, fun, well run tour. Louis was a fantastic guide that we all had fun with. He was funny and nice and very knowlegeable!
Bikes were in great shape and it was a relaxed pace for everyone. No stress!
Highly recommend for anyone. Very flat terrain and so uncrowded all around the grounds.

A must for everyone traveling to Paris
Aug 2019
Versailles is a world-known attraction that cannot leave anyone indifferent. However, to make the most of your visit, I highly recommend to join any of the tours posted on Trip Advisor. Fat Tire Tours is no exception - it was very well organized. Our guide, Natasha, despite her young age, was very knowledgeable of the subject, and, even more importantly, of the Palace and garden themselves. At the day of the tour the weather did not favor us, and we were caught under very heavy rain while walking from the train station to the Palace, so parts of the garden were not easily accessible due to puddles. Natasha easily navigated us through alternative paths and still managed to show all the highlights while keeping us informed and entertained.
Overall me and my daughter were very satisfied with the trip.
One wish which I have is that tour participants should have audio receivers rather than rely on guide's instructions that she sometimes need to shout loudly, especially during walks when the group is stretched (in England it seems common practice, and works very well).

Beautiful... Palace and garden!
Sep 2018 • Solo
A really comfortable train ride from Paris to Versailles with a guide who kept us entertained and informed through the ride. Never been so happy to have a skip the line ticket because the crowd outside the palace waiting for tickets was mind boggling!!
We began with a two hour walk around the garden, which was quite an effort but worth it. We could buy orange juice made from the fruit of the trees grown in the palace ground. A little steeply priced but was really welcome after all the walking around. So beautifully laid out and well manicured was the lawns that one didn’t really miss the absence of too many flowers.
After the garden we went around the Palace..no words to describe it! Beautiful to say the least .. though I wish it wasn’t so crowded and one could look around with more ease.
Please do book your tickets in advance!

Must see!
Versailles is one of the top attractions in Paris. Our tour guid was Richard from UK, he had a lot of knowledge about history of Versailles palace and he was very friendly. He took us to important places of Versailles gardens and showed us the beauty of it. He showed a beautiful cafe at garden to us and gave us 20 min break.
Make sure you make time for at least for 4 hours for it. In the garden you can find the magic fountains, which they turned on with music.
Versailles Palace has a unique architecture, which still nobody can replicate it.
After visiting the garden, you can go straight and visit palace. Make sure you visit the hall of mirror at the palace.

If you need something to do for a day that will keep kids/teenagers involved then here it is.
Jun 2019 • Family
We connected with the tour directly in Versailles which was very easy. It is located at the base of the Saint Louis cathedral. The tour guides were ALL VERY informative and great fun. The tour includes a walk-through of Le Petit Trianon which is Marie Antoinette's home for most of her year's in France. It also includes -- and is MAINLY -- a tour of le Grand Canal. It IS very cool to see on a bike but my teenagers were "done" at about half-way during the trip. HOWEVER, if you go between June and August it is "something to do" in Versailles while you await your ticket entrance time. I DEFINITELY can say that the Chateau entrance "event" was MUCH easier with a guide. We had Riley who was fantastic BUT I saw a lot of the other guides and they ALL appeared to have the same "je ne sais quois!" about getting into the Chateau. They are very good at getting you in quickly but you have a ticket "arrival time" and this dictates the length of the bicylce tour. Once you are in the Chateau then the guide "releases" you to complete the walking tour on your own AND get back to Paris (if need be) WITH the provided RER/Metro fare.

We went on the Versailles bike tour with Eddie and it was awesome. He had great energy, took us a special way that ended up being so great because we never had to wait in lines for anything and got to see a lot of places that didn’t have a crowd. He was very informative and kind, super funny and made learning about history incredibly fun. We would definitely come back and request Eddie again!

Great tour of the gardens!
Yes we skipped the lines & had an incredible time in the gardens. Our guide, Richard from the UK, was knowledgeable & gave us good background info on the palace, the complex, and really focused on the gardens. If you want to be led through the palace interior with a guide this is not the right tour. If you want to see the gardens in a way that you get to enjoy but still move through so you can see lots of fountains & understand the significance of each area then this is your tour.

The palace interior was crowded and was no where near as glorious as the gardens do this tour was perfect for us. Afterwards we roamed about the town & returned to Paris at our leisure. Definitely worth the money to appreciate the gardens unless you have been studying up on them on your own.

Worth every penny!
May 2019 • Couples
We were pleasantly impressed with the walking tour of the gardens. Our guide Phil was very knowledgeable about the history of the site and of the era. Once we headed for the palace, our wait at the group entrance was about 30 minutes. The line for those not on a group tour was 3+hours. This alone was worth the cost.

Fabulous guide and fun outing
Jun 2019 • Friends
Our tour guide, Eddie, was fantastic. Paris did not cooperate, and it absolutely POURED on us all day, but he made sure that we got as much shelter as possible. He was very knowledgeable and we had a lot of fun. I would highly reccomend this tour! The different group leaders also worked together well and coordinated their different tour groups well.
