About
While most visitors to Paris get to taste an authentic croissant, very few get to learn how they’re made. Go behind the scenes with a small-group croissant-making class in the heart of the city. Your instructor not only provides the small group with refreshments and a hands-on lesson, but offers little-known tips for getting deliciously flaky results every time. Leave with a box of croissants and arsenal of recipes.

Highlights
  • Small group sizes ensures a personal experience
  • Instructor offers inside tips and hands-on guidance
  • Take home fresh croissants and recipes
  • Coffee, tea, and juice provided
What to expect
  • Choose the class time to suit your schedule, then head to the cookery school in central Paris to begin your croissant class. The humble croissant is a pastry popular across the whole country, but learning how to bake a perfect batch every time requires practise and a little inside knowledge. Follow step-by-step instructions and learn how to make fluffy croissant dough from beginning to end. With hands-on guidance from your instructor, master the art of the fold and discover how to get great results every time. Then, pop your croissants in the oven and watch them slowly rise. During your class you’ll also make pain au chocolat — a sweet pastry roll with chocolate filling. After roughly two hours, when the baking is done, take your fresh pastries out of the oven and enjoy them with a cup of tea, coffee or juice. When you're finished, bid your instructor goodbye and receive a box of your creations to share with friends and family along with an electronic copy of the recipes in English.

Exquisite Croissants!
Feb 2020
Outstanding experience! Amanda is an experienced baker and great teacher. Every minute was productive even with this time consuming recipe. There were so many new techniques taught and new baking items to buy back at home (pastry broom/brush is my favorite). I have just made my first batch back at home and Amanda's teaching was so good that there are only minor mistakes (all my fault). And they also taste exquisite. I cannot wait to return to learn to make eclairs.

Fun!
Feb 2020 • Family
My daughter and I took a mother-daughter trip to Paris. We thought learning how to bake croissants in Paris would be a memorable activity and was it ever!! This class was so exciting and very informative!! My daughter and I really enjoyed learning how to make croissants with Florence, who is very fun and so knowledgeable about baking. She offered great tips and taught us many techniques. The croissants we made under Florence’s guidance were delicious!!

The facility is lovely and in an easily accessible location. It is clean, well-organized and there are plenty of tools and materials available to use.

I will be returning with my husband to learn how to bake baguettes next!!

Amazing Morning Croissant Class with Guillame
Mar 2020
We did the morning croissants class with Guillame on our recent trip. The class was amazing and very informative! We gained so much knowledge and respect for those who make these pastries every day! Guillame was very fun and made the class exciting! We got to take home the recipe and can't wait to make these pastries at home. Guillame also provided us with recommendations for places to eat and things to do around the city. Next time we are back in Paris we will definitely take another class with Le Foodist!

Amanda was a fantastic host and teacher. The kitchens for both the baking classes and the cooking classes are both amazing. It's a well organized, detailed and authentic experience that we were both so glad we did. Highly, Highly recommend to anyone visiting to have both a fun and authentic experience.

Excellent experience
Well worth the time and money. Due to a last minute cancellation, we were an exceptionally small class (3 people). We actually got to do each step of the 6 hour process because the instructor (sorry I can’t remember her name) carefully timed everything so that we made croissants with dough that had already been started, but also got to start a new batch. As a result, we cut out the waiting for the dough to chill parts and made croissants in 3 hours. I was particularly impressed with the hands on nature of the class. Additionally, we had a 12 year old in the class and I was impressed with the way the instructor incorporated her as just another part of the class. Granted, the girl was also pleasant and easy to deal with.

This course made croissants and pain au chocolat accessible. I think I’ll make them again. Thanks so much.

Bonjour Sjbenoit, thank you very much for your thorough review of your experience learning how to make croissants and pain au chocolat with .... Amanda (that is her name). And I am particularly delighted you highlighted the hands-on nature of the class and found it to your expectations. Last but not least, it is great to read you feel confident you will make them again - ultimately this is what we strive for on top of providing an excellent experience. Merci beaucoup Fred

So much fun!
Feb 2020
My daughter and I visited Paris. While I had been to Paris, she had not. So she asked if we can learn how to bake croissants and are we glad we did!

Florence was our instructor for the class. She was wonderful! She knows so much about baking and made it a lot of fun. The croissants turned-out amazing! Florence took us through every step carefully and helped us improve our skills (rolling and handling dough, for example) and offered very useful tips.

Le Foodist also offers other classes as well. I will be back with my husband and daughter to learn how to bake baguettes!

Highlight of our Paris trip!
My wife and I did the croissant baking class and it was awesome!!! I just can’t get over how amazing our croissants came out. The whole experience was amazing. LeFoodist has done a great job with having not only a location close to the subway stop but also keeping their kitchens in pristine condition. Our instructor Chef Guillaume was awesome and made the experience so much more enjoyable! Now of course comes the task of baking the same quality of croissants back home😅. Highly highly recommend using LeFoodist for any interest in learning how to cook/bake French cuisine.

Excellent Croissant making class in Paris
Feb 2020
My husband and I scheduled the croissant making class conducted by Amanda and it was terrific. Absolutely appreciate the art of croissant making - always felt daunting but we were taught how to make them and pain au chocolat start to finish and feel we are well equipped to make them at home. Excellent instruction, superb facility and helpful tips. Looking forward to going back to Paris and trying another one of their courses.
