Overview
The UNESCO World Heritage-listed village of Saint-Emilion is also one of Bordeaux’s most famous wine appellations. On this tour, enjoy wine tasting at a Grand Cru classified chateau, explore the historic village on a guided walking tour, and enjoy free time for shopping and sightseeing.
What to Expect
After pickup from central Bordeaux, set out on the around 45-minute journey to Saint-Emilion, traveling by air-conditioned minibus. Along the way, stop to visit a Grand Cru classified wine chateau in the Saint Emilion wine region and enjoy a tour of the estate. As you stroll around the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, the importance of ‘terroir’, and the different ‘cru’ classifications of French wine. Finally, sample a selection of Bordeaux wines during a guided tasting.

Continue to the hilltop town of Saint-Emilion and enjoy a guided 45-minute walking tour of the picturesque medieval village. After taking in the highlights, enjoy free time to purchase lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant, browse the shops, or visit the town’s wine cellars.

Depending on time and your group’s preferences, there may also be chance to stop at another winery on the way back to Bordeaux.

Great tour

Amazing tour with a great tour guide. We did the half day and went to one tasting but he organised another ad hoc on the streets of Saint emillion. Highly recommend

You would have to ask the agent before buying tickets as the people carrier would need a baby seat and that would also mean one less paying adult person on the tour. They were really lovely and would probably try to... More
