We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure through Killarney National Park and Richard was a lovely man with a rich knowledge of Killarney's history, it was pleasure to hear him reminisce about his experiences growing up in Killarney which offered a perspective of the park that only a local could share. The park was absolutely gorgeous, vast and green and clean, we even got to see a few deer! He took us right down to one of the lakes within the park and gave us plenty of time to wander around to take photos and admire the view. It was a great experience and one of the most enjoyable parts of our trip.

You are back home again but i am happy that you brought good memories of your visit to the Emerald Isle. This part of the National Park is so close to where i was born, and bred that i like to call it my back garden and i have walked it thousands of times. So i have plenty of stories about the place but most people are happy just to view the scenery, as Irelands highest mountains are to be seen across Loch Léin, and we usually see some deer as well. Mile maith agat (a thousand thanks) for walking with me, and for writing a great view.

I was very lucky to spend a day with just me and my partner on 2 separate walking tours with both Richard and Mike. The first walk with Richard was both stunning and peaceful, he took us right to the water line of the lake and around the national park on many paths nobody would have thought about going. We stopped at many great locations to take in a view and he talked sparingly about his experiences growing up around the national park and knowledge allowing us peace to enjoy the walk. He even got in touch with Mike for us.

Mike's walk was also beautiful showing us the best panoramic view of the entire national park from a distance. He shared many historical accounts and really put in efforts to make us feel welcome and also took us along paths and routes less travelled. Even ended it at Killarney house. I highly recommend these walks as they are the best way to see Killarney.

it was lovely to take you off the beaten path to show you some of my favourite places in Killarney National Park. It really is a labour of love for me as thats where i like to spend my spare time. This is where i grew up, and devoloped my passion for the outdoors around the shores of Loch Léin. You certainly had a good guide for part two of the walk as Mike was born and reared in the town centre, and is a mine of information. Thanks for walking with us, and for writing a great review. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

This two hour trip was such a delight. Our guide was a Killarney native and so knowledgable. He guided us through a part of the park and even pointed our many native plants and animals. He shared stories of his own travels and even sang us a couple of songs! He was a great story teller and we learned a lot about the park.

Thanks very much for the great review after walking in Killarney National Park with James who loves to sing, and has a great interest in the flora, and fauna around Loch Léin. Like myself he has a passionate interest in the outdoors especially around Killarney his home town. I hope you enjoy the rest of the Summer, and get a chance to come back here again as there is lots more places to explore. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

Richard guided my 15 year old daughter and I on a series of hikes/scrambles throughout Killarney National Park.

We emailed Richard about a month prior to our visit with details on the type of scenery we would like to see and he customized a 3 hour hike for us (complete with car travel to the park). We are fit runners and we’re looking for an adventurous day without getting into serious mountaineering. It was perfect.

Richard is a ton of fun, has an authentic love for his local woods and knows them like the back of his hand. I’d schedule another day out with him in a heartbeat.

It was lovely to meet you both, and I enjoyed the hike so much myself that I would love to do it again tomorrow. We had a good share of rain before you arrived, but that showed the waterfalls at their best. The weather was lovely, and we were lucky to see the two wild goats even though its usually deer we see. I always love to call to where my grand mother lived an old cottage now in ruins surrounded by oak woodland. Thanks for walking with me, and writing a great review. Slán go fóill (bye a while)

Our walking group took a guided walk in Kilarney National Park as part of our weekend break. The walk was excellent, and the walking guide Richard Clancy made our day. We took in a circular loop over six hours which begun at Muckross House and circled Muckross lake and Torc. We had a lovely stop at Dinis cottage before working our way back bt Torc Waterfall.
Richard was an excellent guide who gave us such a mix of history and local knowledge that we would never have enjoyed wothout him.

The beautiful weather made my job very easy ,as the scenery did the talking. As well as that the good humour of your group made it a very memorable day for me, a day I will never forget. I needed a long walk after I sampled the lovely pastries from the top class baker in the group, followed by some more refreshments at the far side of Loch Mhucrois in Dinis Cottage. This cottage is over two hundred years old, its always a great place to stop for a cupán tae, and view the Old Wier Bridge plus the Meeting of the Waters, Thanks for walking with me, and giving me such a lovely day out. My friend and I did not expect the beauty of the National Park in Killarney. Richard was the best tour guide we could have asked for to make this experience. He knows this place from the inside out and is such a lovely person. From singing songs to being a quizmaster, he managed to create an unforgetable memory for us.
It was a pleasure meeting you!
Kind regards, M&M

I was glad to arrange a couple of rainbows as we walked around the shores of Loch Léin. I am sorry that we were unable to find the pot of gold but i will keep trying so you must return another time, and maybe we will be lucky. I enjoyed your company very much, both of you were so eager to learn about Killarney National Park, and Ireland in general. Vielan danke fur alles. It was also a good oportunity to use my few words of German. Slán go fóill (auf wiedershen).

Myself and my wife met Richard at the easy to find location at the end of the town and at the edge of the park. Immediately we knew we were in good hands. Given the climate (COVID-19) Richard mentioned the social distancing which put us all at ease. Unfortunately Rua the dog could not join us as she is getting senior and finds the walk to long but we enjoyed the chats about the adventures of Rua on the walking tour. Richard knows everything and everyone on the way. The pace is leisurely and relaxing and suitable for all ages. It was showery so we meandered through the woods with still plenty to see while availing if the tree canopy to give us a little protection from the elements. Richard loves the Irish language. Being Irish speakers ourselves we enjoyed sharing “cúpla focail” with Richard. Richard knows the park like the back of his hand and all of a sudden you find yourself down a little path or glen to another great scenic location. Plenty to see depending on your interest, birds, deer flora and fauna of all description that Richard points out along the way. I am fairly convinced Richard knows everyone in Kerry! We have been on many walking tours around the world and this is right up there and great value for money.
So, book the tour, grab a coffee and enjoy a very pleasant walk with a great guide through stunning scenery. Go raibh míle maith agat a Risteard. Tiocfaimid ar ais le cúnamh Dé.

Things have been very quiet on the tourist scene this year for everyone, so it was lovely to meet you to stretch my legs for two hours. I was back in what I call my back garden the place I love, and I am so familiar with as I was born just across the road from it. I have always had a love of walking in Killarney National Park, and the surrounding mountains here in Co. Kerry, and of course there is a lot of places of historical interest as well. It was great that you could both speak the Irish language Is bréa liom é, agus bhí alán scéalta agaibh faoi an saol thuas I mBaile Átha Cliath, agus dar noigh galf. Glad you got to see some of our red,and sika deer grazing the lush grass. Glad you enjoyed the walk so much, and hopefully you get a chance to return soon. Go raibh maith agaibh as ucht an léirmheas iontach. Slán go fóill.

Its great to forget about the world wide health crisis for a while, and no better way to do that than to have a good walk in the great outdoors of Killarney National Park. Thanks for walking with me it was my pleasure to show you some of the places I love, and I hope you can return to see some more. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

Fantastic guided walk with Richard in the Killarney National Park today. The pace was perfect and we very much enjoyed the stunning viewpoints that he showed us, the beautiful red deer and getting off the beaten path right down to the edge of the lake. We saw bits of the park that we would never have found by ourselves. It was about 2.5 hours in total. Richard was very friendly and informative. We would highly recommend this tour and would happily do it again. Lovely lunch in the tearoom in the park afterwards too as recommended by Richard.

A great morning’s walk in the National Park, Killarney with Richard our guide. He knew all the spots to capture views of the Lake and mountains and to round it all up we encountered a herd of wild red deer. Highly recommend!

I am delighted you enjoyed the walk so much, Killarney National Park has a lot to offer not just the beautiful scenery of lakes, woods, and mountains but things like the red deer you mentioned. We also have the smaller breed of sika deer which were introduced here from Wicklow in 1865. Thank you for the great review, and please call again. Slán go fóill (bye a while).
