Spare yourself the hassle and expense of driving yourself around Ireland on a convenient Dublin Bay tour that’s perfect for lovers of natural landscapes. Explore the 12th-century Malahide Castle and its famous gardens, wander the quaint village of Howth, and enjoy sweeping countryside vistas. Your local guide puts all of these views into context and provides historical information you may otherwise have missed,

What to Expect

Leave downtown Dublin in a climate-controlled vehicle. As you travel through the countryside north of the city, your driver-guide explains the region’s history.

Your first stop is Malahide Castle, one of Ireland’s oldest castles. Richard Talbot, one of Henry II’s knights, first built Malahide during the 12th century, and it stayed in his family for almost 800 years.

After a tour of the interior, a stroll in the ornamental gardens, and a visit to the craft shop (and café, if you would like), you'll travel through picturesque Malahide village and along the rugged coast to the fishing port of Howth.

Explore the quaint streets and pretty harbor with its traditional fishing boats before heading up to Howth summit to savor sweeping views across Dublin Bay. Finally, you’ll return to your central Dublin starting point.

This dining room predates Columbus!

Had a great trip! Loved Malahide Castle, but wish we had about 25 more minutes to look around the castle and grounds. Howth was amazing—was surprised by one of the local harbor seals. Would definitely make a return visit to Howth! Stephen was a great,...More

Disappointing RUSHED bus tour

We took this 4 hour bus tour on May 24. Couldn't believe the bus driver waited 15 minutes beyond the scheduled departure time for additional riders. This made the whole trip too rushed. Also waited for participants to leave from the castle for Howth and...More

Interesting tour

Tour driver Dermot was knowledgeable, and the trip was interesting. We had plenty of time (2hrs) at Malahide for a guided house tour and wander in the very lovely garden, and a half hour in Howth at the fishing port. Luckily it didn't rain as...More

Our tour was 4.5 hours. There was a lot of traffic as it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Fantastic tour.
