This day trip offers the most wonderful vistas of Connemara - rolling green hills, golden lit peaks and fjords, mysterious peat bogs, lakes and sheep and tiny winding tracks. We watched as sheep were mustered by an excited but skillful dog; we visited Kylemore Abbey; we wandered the bustling streets of Galway. The bus driver was chatty and knowledgeable. This was just the trip for a wet day in Ireland.

We booked this trip as a group of 4 travellers from Canada because it ended in Galway for a couple of hours to explore - this is NOT TRUE. When we started the tour we were told by our lovely helpful driver Ewon that we drive through Galway but we do not stop ... I was not given any notice by email about any changes and this website on trip advisor is still posting this trip as stopping in Galway and the company Viator has not changed it either and after our day trip we spoke with the ticket office in Dublin and they said the information was suppose to be changed in March of this year ... they would not offer any assistance regarding discounts and just said we have to go to Viator to get any refund.
This was a beautuful trip and we loved it, however not being able to go to Galway was very disappointing ... I do have a suggestion... take out the mine tour and go straight to the Abby for more time to fo lunch and a tour there, the Abby is beautuful.
Please change the information about this trip si peopke like me who book from another country are not disappointed when they travel so far,

This is my 2nd time to Connemara with Irish Day tour. This was also my 6th tour with Irish Day Tour. But I have never received any discount. We (myself and my wife) were on time and Noel was there at the Molly Malone Statue to receive us. We went in a medium sized bus with 12 other travellers from different countries. We drove through Inagh Valley and clicked few stunning pictures during the sunset. Noel did a great job and he explained every single war e.g. Norman Invasion, Burke Civil War, Confederate War, Williamite War on the way to Connemara in relation to River Shannon and the areas near by. The guid ein Glengowla mines was fabulous. He explained every single chemical reaction and geo physics. The complete tour was very interesting and we gathered a lot of knowledge. The weather was perfect for the Killary harbour cruise trip. Highly recommended.

We booked this trip with Irish Day Tours. Pick up was at the Molly Malone Statue, Sussex Street at 6.20 am. Our driver guide was MAC. He was very knowledgeable, funny and made the day very enjoyable. We travelled down to Killary for our boat cruise on the Killary Fjord. We had a stop to pick up refreshments on the way. The scenery on the boat cruise was wonderful. We then travelled to Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Garden. You have to pay extra to go inside the Abbey and visit the Walled Garden. Following this we travelled to Galway. MAC accompanied us on foot in the city to point out places of interest. A great trip and guide.

Me and my wife had pleasure to show our visiting aunt one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. Gerrards stories about Irish history were very interesting.
Boat cruise was an excellent experience and definitely the main thing to see.
Kylemore Abbey comes with no entry ticket that info should be included in the trip overview.
Inagh Valley has stunning views of Irish nature.
Galway City need no introduction, is just place must see.

Great tour on the Easter day!!
The structure of this trip was really well organised, we stopped at the Glengowla Mines with an excellent tour guide then moved to a boat trip on the Fiord and had lunch at the beautiful Kylemore Abbey.
Our driver James was so prepared and passionate about showing us the beauty of Connemara that added to this experience a very nice touch.
I strongly recommend Irish Day Tours/Extreme Ireland, their offer is high quality and a good mix of activities that make you discover truly this amazing Country!

Information that we got in advance was good with description of pick up place. But I missed information of time of return. The bus was on time and tour guide was extremely kind and open. He explained important things and was open for more questions. Even though trip is really good I wish that we could spend more time in Galway, where we had just one hour and a half. I think it would be better that return to Dublin would be in later in the evening since I felt we missed half of the day because we were in Dublin already at 17.30.

Well, Irish day tours and our guide Mac need to be thanked for this discovery of Western Ireland. The weather was just perfect and the white floating clouds made up for a perfect photo shoot.

it also gave me a chance to discover 40 metres below the ground in an Irish mine. Glengowla mines, as they are called were used for mining lead and silver in the olden days. They also have great content of barium sulphate, quartz and dolerite. This was followed by a visit to the picturesque Kylemore Abbey.

We ended the tour with a 90 minute cruise at the killary fjord which is nothing but the Atlantic Ocean and with cliffs on both sides.

Must visit tour.

Had an enjoyable trip with my teenage daughter. The scenery was beautiful. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and humorous. The sheep farm was pretty and Kylemore Abbey was enjoyable for a short visit. All in all, the tour was a worthwhile trip. I’d recommend for anyone that is new to Ireland and wants to experience something other than Dublin.

We had a wonderful trip with Mac. He made organizational decisions that made the trip engaging and efficient. I listened to his commentary about Ireland on the drive, very interesting. The tour was a delight start to finish
