Isle of Skye Day Tour from Inverness Including Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, the Quiraing, Portree and Eilean Donan Castle
From US$79,56
Overview
See the best of best of the Isle of Skye without having to spend the night on this day tour from Inverness. Travel easily between such sites as the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and the capital, Portree while learning all about the island from your guide. Take in the views of the Scottish Highlands along the drive and stop at Eilean Donan Castle and Loch Ness on the way back.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with a morning pickup from Inverness city center. Settle into the mini-coach for the journey to the Isle of Skye.

As you head of you the city, enjoy the unfolding landscapes of the Black Isle and the Scottish Highlands before crossing the Skye Bridge. Look out for the islands of Pabay, Scalpay, and Raasay.

Your first stop on Skye is Kyleakin. Make the most of the photo opportunities here before continuing past the Cuillin mountains toward Sligachan. You have some free time here to walk around and, perhaps, sample a local beer or whisky (own expense).

Heading north along the Trotternish Peninsula, you pass the Old Man of Storr, a 164-foot- (50-meter-) high rock jutting out from the hills. Take in the view of Kilt Rock, where a waterfall plunges into the Sound of Raasay below, then continue to the Quiraing for a short walk across the otherworldly volcanic landscape.

Your next stop is the comparatively bustling island capital of Portree, where you can shop for souvenirs or have a bite to eat (own expense), before heading back toward Inverness. Your return journey stops at the much-photographed Eilean Donan Castle, as well as at Urquhart Castle on the shore of Loch Ness.

Your tour concludes with a drop-off back at the original departure point.
