Loch Ness Sightseeing Cruise Including Urquhart Castle

Overview
Forget about the hassle of driving or bus timetables on this coach and boat trip from Inverness. Enjoy seamless transportation to the harbor where you embark upon a cruise on Loch Ness, taking in the beautiful Highland landscape and, perhaps, monster-spotting opportunities along the way. Disembark at Urquhart Castle and take advantage of free time to explore before returning to Inverness.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with a pickup from central Inverness. Settle into the air-conditioned coach as it travels out of the city and into the surrounding countryside.

Enjoy enlightening and entertaining commentary from your guide throughout the tour. Upon arrival at the pier, board the cruise boat and take in the sweeping views as you cross the still waters of Loch Ness toward the romantic ruins of Urquhart Castle. Keep your eyes peeled for "Nessie," the fabled Loch Ness Monster, along the way.

Enjoy free time to tour the crumbled castle that, in its 500-year-long role as a medieval fortress, has a long and bloody history. Learn about King Edward I’s invasion in the 13th century, its importance during the 14th-century Wars of Scottish Independence, and multiple raids during the 15th and 16th centuries.

Snap photos of the Highland vista from the castle before re-boarding the coach for the return journey. Your tour concludes back at the original departure point.

So much fun!

Alan (sp) was a great tour guide! He was funny and informative and provided lots of great information and fun facts as we drove to the ferry. We got to see hairy cows (hairy coos) and learned about the highland sport of Shinty. That turned...More

This was a real highlight of our trip!

We visited the castle and took the 30 minute boat ride to Loch Ness. The boat ride was smooth sailing and we enjoyed looking on the sonar for Nessie and having a warm drink. The boat was clean and the crew was friendly. Boarding was...More

Just enough time for the little ones

Reasonably priced adventure and just the right amount of time with our 2 little ones on the boat and in the castle. The one piece of feedback I will provide (though it seems pretty universal throughout Scotland): if you’re planning on traveling the Highlands without...More

Loved the castle ruins

To be honest I would have been happy to give thec30 min cruise a miss and go straight to the castle. The boat was very crowded and the majority of passengers were not interested in the commentary and kept loudly talking in their own language...More

Beautiful Cruise and Urquhart is Amazing

Highly recommend - especially from the Clansman! Convenient and easy access to boarding area. Tour bus showed up for our 9am but still plenty of seating, on both levels, even with the large crowd. Loch cruise is gorgeous, with plenty of photo ops for scenery...More
