- Justyna W0 contributionsCan add extra fun when walking around placesI was disappointed that the tour had nothing to do with Truro. Would have been much better if the questions related to the history, architecture etc of the actual town. Possibly rushed buying it without reading correctly but will not be doing again unless directly connected to the place.Written 1 September 2024
- WorkHardForMyHoliday0 contributionsWorth a visit, but a walk.Great place to visit, but beware that there's a 20 minute walk from your car. You can climb the stairs inside. No facilities other than a brick tower.Written 26 August 2024

- X5306UWmichelles0 contributionsTrafalgar overlooks basic health safety precautionsMy husband and I joined Trafalgar recently for the first time to the UK from 5/27 through 6/15. There were 41 travelers on this tour so a large group. Unfortunately, Travel Director Tim failed to observe basic health safety precautions. Aside from an obscure announcement in his welcome message (very bottom of a list) he did not make any efforts whatsoever to emphasize the importance of health safety. From Day 1, there was already coughing on the motorcoach and ESPECIALLY in such a large group, I relayed my concerns to Tim in private and asked him to reinforce this health safety point. He got very defensive and said that he had already communicated to the group but could not force people to wear masks because we were not in Covid times. He delayed making the announcement until Day 3, which made it obvious that he was not concerned at all. He simply couldn't be bothered by this issue. We were cramped in a motorcoach for hours on end, totaling 2,800+ driving miles, for a total of 19 days so I was baffled by his attitude. While I understand that one CANNOT force the usage of face masks, all I asked was that he make short safety reminders at the beginning of each day. He even asked me what I would have him do, and I suggested that. He got defensive and said that he's been making announcements throughout the trip which he did NOT. That was FALSE. Aside from the online blurb, he made only ONE verbal announcement on the motorcoach on Day 3. As it turned out, the traveler hacking away wore a mask for 2 days, then she elected to remove it, never again to be seen wearing it, while still coughing a great deal. She was very sick the entire tour but chose to infect the rest of us. At one point or another, travelers started to wear masks and said they were not feeling well. Perhaps she was not the only sick person, so it would have benefited us all IF anyone not feeling well would wear a mask from the get-go. At least 18 people got sick during this trip, many who said that proper precautions were not made. Directing people to pharmacies or chemists at some of our stops certainly did not nip the problem in the bud. Unfortunately, regardless of how much precaution I took, I fell ill with a nasty cough. What a horrible way to end an overseas trip! I couldn't enjoy week 3 and the plane ride home was miserable. I found Tim's lackadaisical attitude towards protecting travelers' health to be quite irresponsible. I didn't appreciate the fact that I went on tour healthy and happy, to end up ill and miserable. IF he had made reminders about wearing face masks on a daily basis at the start of each day, and I still fell ill, I would not be writing this review as I understand how travel can wear people's health down and I could have caught a bug on my own. BUT the fact that Tim failed miserably in even reminding people of this super important health protection suggests that he / Trafalgar doesn't care about the health of its travelers. Interestingly, Tim spent a good 20 minutes lecturing the group why we should tip him and the driver well as that would help him maintain his lifestyle. It was to the point of embarrassment when travelers looked at each other in dismay and shock about his boldness and tackiness. Had he employed some of this same enthusiasm to encourage more health amongst the group, I would have agreed that he should receive a big tip. Whether it's Covid or not, Trafalgar has the responsibility to help travelers prevent the spread of disease (cold, flu, etc). All I asked was for daily reminders and he couldn't even deliver that simple request. At least half of the people who fell ill would have been spared had the proper health safety reminders been in place. This is a fundamental point that Tim / Trafalgar refused to understand. It's not far fetched to flip the table and think that even the tour director and / or driver could fall ill when surrounded by people coughing and sniffling without a mask. Would Trafalgar then pay attention as the expenses and inconveniences associated with sending replacements would affect the bottom line for Trafalgar?? Were it not for this enormous health safety hazard, we would be more than happy to consider repeat tours. For the fear of being proactive in health safety issues, Trafalgar risks losing business from health-conscious folks such as myself as many of my fellow travelers shared the same views. There are lots of travel companies out there so we have choices but Trafalgar is not making the list.Written 13 July 2024
- CatandBones20130 contributionsDisappointing general knowledge quiz and impossible locations, very disappointedWhat we were expecting and what we got were two different things. The quiz locations - we have no idea what we were supposed to see, most were inaccessible by car - and the quiz’s had nothing to do with the location. Those that were walking spots - no indication of parking or were inaccessible without a 5/6 mile hike. Really disappointed as have done similar trips elsewhere and loved them. It would seem no one has researched this - just used google and google maps - and not well. After trying 11/12 pins and driving past others we gave up and had a brilliant day just driving around and following what looked like interesting signsWritten 9 July 2024

- briandF2043TJ0 contributionsUndesirable outcomeUnfortunately expectations were sorely missed. Was expecting an audio-based multi device self guided tour, and that was not the outcome. You get a map of various sites, but there is no narrative. Save your $20.Written 29 June 2024
- SandraP9510 contributionsBlackpool Tower Ballroom with afternoon teaThe Ballroom was amazing. Any photos could never do it justice its was so ornate. Both organs were played whilst we were there and an assortment of standards of dancing, all enjoying themselves. There was a bar serving snacks tea and coffee also a vending machine for sandwiches. We were served our afternoon tea by a lovely waitress but we were slightly disappointed in the tea. Felt the bread was cheap and the sandwich fillings were poor compared with other places and slightly stale scones in our opinion. This being said it was a lovely experience. All the staff were very friendly and helpful Definitely worth a visit especially if you are a Strictly fan. If you are going to more than one attraction it is definitely worth buying a multiple attraction ticket as buying each attraction ticket is much more expensive.Written 2 May 2024
- fatherandhusban0 contributionsPortadown's 'Big Anne's' Cafe has Good Food and Small Prices!Visited Big Anne's Cafe/Restaurant on Bridge Street, Portadown, Northern Ireland, UK today (May 1st 2024) and found that this dinning operation in the County Armagh Town of Portadown has more than successfully filled the same space as the once well-known Town Cafe 'Wee Barney's' occupied for many many years. Simon served us, and we ordered an excellent chicken curry meal for my wife, a tasty omelette for myself, and a big pot of hot tea to wash it down. Excellent fare! The cubicled eating area had been reduced a tad from the 'Wee Barney's' capacity to house a new serving counter which now faces the entrance door of the Cafe, but continued to give the dining customer that vital feeling of privacy when enjoying the varied menu on offer. The Food was hot, well cooked, and tasty, the cubicles laid out with the usual array of brown/red sauces, salt, pepper, and sugar for the tea. Fresh milk was brought to the table with the good big pot of tea for two, obligatory but good quality paper napkins, and we got tucked in to what Simon and 'Big Anne's Cafe had served. Excellent good hot meal, tasty, good proportions, semi-private cubicles; and great variety of menu - and all at a most reasonable price range. Result! What more could the Portadown diner require to satisfy the culinary needs of a busy day, or a day trip to visit the old Town of Portadown? Well done, Simon and Staff! Well done 'Big Anne's Cafe'! Keep up the great work!Written 1 May 2024
- ianrU4855KY0 contributionsDon’t pay for or download the app!!!!App is totally useless….doesn't tell you about any of the places. Definitely not worth the £15, the links on the sites just revert you back to trip advisor. Just download Google maps and walk round yourself. The quizzes ask you about places such as Runcorn and Macclesfield…again nothing about the various sites in ChesterWritten 3 April 2024
- bafsb0 contributions780ft plus climb worth it if you have time to killIt was a very steep climb and I am glad I made it to the top- it was nice and for me have seen so many views such as this so unless you want to climb up and you have a lot of time go for it. It is just a tower of importance but there is nothing else there . View of the coast on a clear day and lots of cows and beware as there maybe a bull lose in the fields .Written 15 March 2024

- lucylC715WR0 contributionsOk but not greatOk but not great. One round of local questions and most were generic uk ones. There wasn’t a hunt or puzzles. Lots of checkpoints to walk to. Some of the points were a long way away making it near impossible to finish in a day. For example a country park 20 minutes drive away. Not a bad way to spend the day but there are better more engaging tours available.Written 15 February 2024
