Rosslyn Chapel, the Scottish Borders and Glenkinchie Distillery Tour from Edinburgh

Overview

Get an insight into the rolling landscapes and turbulent history of Scotland’s majestic but less-visited Lowlands from your local guide on this full-day tour. As you visit sites from Rosslyn Chapel to Melrose, last resting place of Robert the Bruce’s heart, the humans behind the legends will come to life. Finally, relax as you sample Lowland whiskies at a distillery: after all, you’re not driving!

What to Expect

Meet your guide on Edinburgh’s legendary Royal Mile and board your coach to the village of Roslin and 15th-century Rosslyn Chapel, as featured in Dan Brown’s bestselling novel, The Da Vinci Code.

Next, enjoy a scenic journey to the Scottish Borders, also known as the Lowlands, and the pretty town of Melrose. You’ll have time to explore and buy lunch, and may choose to visit Melrose Abbey, where King Robert the Bruce’s heart is buried.

As you head back towards Edinburgh, enjoy a photo stop at Scott’s View and capture the River Tweed valley, one of the favorite sights of author Sir Walter Scott. Finally, visit Glenkinchie Distillery to learn how they make their whiskies—and sample them, of course. Your coach will drop you back at the Royal Mile.
