Highlights
  • Visit the border town of Kelso with your guide
  • Gain insight into centuries of colorful English and Scottish history

What to Expect
Meet your top-of-the-range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach in the morning in central Edinburgh before spinning out of the city with your guide into the borderlands between Scotland and England for your tour. First, stop in the market town of Kelso and explore top attractions including Kelso Abbey. With your guide to lead the way, hear about bloody conflicts between the Scottish and the English through the centuries. Continue southward to Alnwick Castle—famous across the world as the fictional Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter movies. On arrival, enjoy free time to explore at your leisure. Stroll the expansive grounds, and perhaps pay the entrance fee to explore the castle’s interior with a guide (own expense). Afterward, head onward along the Northumberland coastline, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as you make your way back to Edinburgh.

This was our second time here but our friends had not been. We love the value one gets from visiting Alnwick Castle as there's lots to see and experience. There are Canalettos and a Turner on display but my all time favourite are the Versailles sideboards which are beautifully
