Get an inside look at the world of Harry Potter on this walking tour of Oxford. Accompany your guide inside the grand buildings of Oxford University, including New College and Divinity School—both used for Hogwarts in the films. Hear lesser-known stories about the filming, as well as context about Oxford's long history as a place of literary inspiration. A small group ensures plenty of time for questions.
What to Expect
Meet your guide—who will be easy to spot dressed in a Hogwartsesque cloak—in the center of Oxford and embark upon your tour.

As you walk toward Oxford University, listen as your guide tells you about the city's pre-J.K. Rowling literary heritage and authors like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Lewis Carroll who studied, wrote, and lived here. Your guide also provides some inside information about the filming of the movies.

Discover the magic of the New College and Divinity School, and understand why they were featured in the movies. Also, marvel at the 11 million antique volumes in Bodleian Library.

After exploring the filming locations, your tour concludes at the original departure point.

A very good 2.5 hours

Our guide (Peter) was very knowmegeable about Harry Potter, other Oxford literary references and Oxford history in general, he was also very enthusiastic and had a good personal contact despite a cold rainy day visit. Good communication through Whatsapp also ahead of the tour.

From memory, the tour took about 2 hours and we were actively walking for about half of it. The other half was standing listening to the guide and looking around. Hope this helps.
