Overview

While visiting Oxford on a tight schedule, it can be hard to decide which wonderful historic buildings to explore. Discover the Oxford you want to see, whether it’s the world of Harry Potter or the “city of dreaming spires,” on a walking tour that can be tailor-made to your interests. Enjoy plenty of time to ask your private guide questions, and choose from a morning or afternoon departure time.

What to Expect
After meeting your private guide in central Oxford, explain any particular interests you may have. Possible tour focuses include the worlds of Harry Potter or Lewis Carroll, or you can learn all about the history of Oxford. Your guide will discuss your options and arrange the best itinerary for the tour time and day of the week.

Then stroll Oxford’s streets as your guide illuminates the city, answering any questions you have. You might choose to visit the Bodleian Library, first opened in 1602, Sir Christopher Wren’s Sheldonian Theatre, or the Hertford Bridge, known as the “Bridge of Sighs.” Once your tour ends, your guide will bid you farewell in the city center.

Great Walking Tour

Spencer took us around Oxford for a few hours and showed us a multitude of interesting places, and also provided insights into the area and University. We did not know that much about Oxford before our visit so we were ready to learn. I felt...More

Walking around Oxford is a lesson in history of education

The rivalry between the colleges locally in Oxford, as well as the rivalry between Oxford and Cambridge is amazing. The campuses are beautiful. Harry Potter fans will get a kick out of some of the scenes shot around Oxford. Finding great places to eat was...More

Well worth it.

We booked a private walking tour which did not disappoint. Our guide, Tim, was excellent. We walked around all of the colleges while Tim educated us on the history of each. Thoroughly recommend booking a walking tour.

They were flexible about tour durations so since it is a private tour, I would recommend asking them if you could start at 4pm.
