- helenanZ6891OX0 contributionsNice drive- terribly bad guidanceNice bus tour but horribly lousy guidance. There is an app as well that we also used in parallel - however it did not make the siuation better. Too expensive for just a ride, worthless guiding. The driver could easily have complemented with a couple of words, but no - tapes with too little informaion and not in sync with the tour is what we got.Written 4 March 2024

- L8067LLvickig0 contributionsDon’t waste your money!!!Terrible ! Complete waste of money. Information completely out of date for a start - claiming our poor deceased Queen was living in Buckingham palace and that Will and Kate were still living in Kensington ! What little information that was given between the endless awful music was useless. Some attempt at humour I presume in the commentary but I’m not remotely interested in a man and his start up business and a woman looking for love and describing what she would do with her imaginary children at the natural history museum. Spend your money on one of the proper, professional tour buses that can actually provide some useful information on London!Written 20 February 2024
- PJMammoo0 contributionsFANTASTIC FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND Families STAFF WERE KIND HELPFULAbsolutely FANTASTIC ! We did the child friendly 45 minute tour but it ended up being 1 hour 20 because of the traffic being 1 lane at Piccadilly! This showed us we had booked the right tour for our toddler as he was ready for off about 1 hour 15 in so we couldn’t have done one of the typical 2 hour ish tours with him it was just the perfect length. Really safely driven, absolutely FANTASTIC funny and friendly tour guide who was very informative and helpful whilst waiting for our tour and a great guide on the way around!! We willl DEFINITELY do this again in summer it went by all the thing we wanted to see and for a fantastic price cannot commend this tour enough to be honest. As you can see from the attached photos our son LOVED it!Written 17 February 2024
- Kantilal G0 contributionsA very traumatic experienceOur experience on taking the Hop hop off Christmas light tour of the London sights in December 2023 has been an awful experience and one that me and my family will never forget and we will never ever do any tours with this company. I rate this company 0 out of 5 and advise all travellers to avoid this company and choose a better bus tour operator. Our experience left us mentally traumatised and horrified. It all started when half way into our tour when the conditions on the tour bus got worse to say the least. Sitting on an open top bus we were given ear phones to hear running commentary on audio system which having tried several times did not work at all a total waste of time. We then opted to move down stairs in order to sat warm but this made seeing the Christmas lights even worse as nothing could be seen. As we had already paid £120 for 8 of us in our group, a large amount for a tour which should have lasted an hour with guidance, non of which had happened, instead we ended up seeing the residential parts of London when the driver took the wrong turn and ended getting lost and driving on the footpath and driving the bus full off people with on coming traffic., going down the wrong way on a one way street just I try and get back on to the tour route. The bus driver was even seen driving and talking to the head office over the phone while driving, when on of the passenger requested to stop and drive the bus, which was totally ignored. We were frightened for our safety. Even after complaining and writing several emails to and through Tooth bus only gave back £30;00 with an apology of inconvenience blaming the night had faced planned protest marches which they were not aware at the time and as a result the driver took the wrong turn which ended the tour taking an unplanned diversion, and a route which under normal circumstances would have not been taken. Such a disgraceful awful experience. 1st let down by the tour bus driver and then .eat down by the management. On-any of Toot Bus, with a Mosley compensation of £30;00 when we asked for a full refund we were advised that this is the best the can offer under the circumstances. I ask what would you do ? Is it worth the anxiety and trauma it has caused and the disappointment of not seeing the Christmas lights tour.. I advise all fellow travellers to avoid this Bus company in future sight seeing visits not us there in London but any where in the world as they are a budget company with no customer care at all. AVOID AT ALL COST - ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL.Written 17 February 2024
- coarsea0 contributionsRip off toursWorst tour ever. They tried to charge me £300 then , £250 and could not agree on a price. We eventually agreed and then sat on a tour bus with not working headphone jacks. Avoid like the plague. Rip off tour company.Written 16 February 2024
- stephp8690 contributionsTootbus are excellent. Theyll guide you all the way !The best way to see most of the important sights in London on the top deck of a double decker bus. Tootbus staff are very helpful and approachable. Just google a Tootbus stop and hop on. Regular buses and choose from different routes but highly recommend the yellow route. Or do them all. Nice clean buses with complimentary earphones to listen to the guide explain the different landmarks and short history of each and a map to follow your route. The lady driver today ( sat 10th Feb) on the green route, Theresa, went above and beyond to help and assist with redeeming our tickets and stopped the bus and escorted us to the yellow stop to continue our journey. She was very friendly and made sure we had the best experience. Shes an absolute credit to the company.Written 10 February 2024
- 123glennk0 contributionsEasy Way to Get Around to Visit Most of London's AttractionsThe Tootbus routes take you all around London to visit most of the of the well-known attractions. It is well-priced, especially if you get it with one of the many tourist combo passes. The buses are generally on time and easy to hop on and off. The are not particularly quick so if you are in a hurry you are best off using the London Tube network. They do a commentary as well which is informative and sometimes humorousWritten 9 February 2024
- hollymP672LL0 contributionsJust skip this one!I took the Toot Bus BRUSSELS tour in December of 2023, and it was a joke. My sister and I were in Amsterdam for a week and decided to take a day trip to Brussels to enjoy the hop-on-hop off option getting to see Brussels to a day. BIG mistake. The train ride in was fine...ish. The weather the day we got there was cold, rainy, and windy. I don't blame Brussels for that. You can't control the weather, right? What you CAN control, however, is having an open-air bus in cold, rainy, windy weather. Seriously? Toot-bus. It was about 39 degrees, rainy, windy, and cold, and you've got an open air bus with no protection from the elements. ZERO protection from the elements. My sister and I planned to stay in Brussels for the entire day, riding around on the two bus lines, seeing the sights, and just generally enjoying the day. HOWEVER, once we realized that no one at the Brussels Toot-bus office cared about customers (or had any common sense when it came to weather in the winter) we decided to get right back on the train and head back to Amsterdam. We did one cold, wet, windy, frigid loop on a Toot-Bus with a small group of LOUD Russian tourists who weren't on the bus to see any sights, just to sit and shout at each other in Russian (yippee!), and decided to go back to Amsterdam. And before you say, "Why didn't you just go sit on the lower level of the bus?" WE WERE ON THE LOWER LEVEL OF THE BUS! Every window was down/open and it was impossible to close them and have any protection from the cold/wet/wind. Truly the worst hop-on-hop-off experience I've ever had. Just skip this one.Written 8 February 2024
- Paradise5637450 contributionsDon't take it!Whent om January 20 with my son. Wee found the earplugs but the comentary was very arbitary. For example no coments when passing Trafalgar square Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge and Tower, just music. One of the main points in buying a ticket to a Sightseeing bus is the coments, I regret this trip an the 50 ponds spend on it. I could have got the same expirense with the regular buses for 10% the price. Stay away!Written 31 January 2024

- 246oleksiyv0 contributionsAwful - avoidWe had 2.5 hours before heading to the airport and were told by the agent that the full loop (hop on/hop off) takes about 40 mins (asked thrice to confirm). Well at about 2:20 mark we had to jump out and look for taxi as the driver seemed to be going 5 mph the entire time (traffic or no traffic), stopping at every other stop to chat with co-workers 5-10 mins - and we still had about 1/4 of the route left after more then two hours. Audio guide was a joke with music playing the entire time and about 5 mins worth of absolutely random factoids not connected to the route or the stop you were at. You are much better off taking a regular bus or even walking.Written 26 January 2024

Went on a rainy day in early Feb with a Swiss friend as our guest.
We got off the bus at the Tower and took the boat back to Westminster. This part of the trip was excellent with a live commentary well delivered but the bus trip was disappointing and worst of all, long delays were experienced every time we wanted to get back onto a bus.
When we bought the tickets we were told that there would be a bus along in a few minutes. There wasn't for about 15. At St Pauls we had a very long wait, at least 20 minutes and the other 2 bus companies both had several buses pick up their clients while we stood there. No-one there from Original Tours either..
Worst of all, when we tried to rejoin the tour at Westminster after the boat trip, to complete the rest of the tour, we had to stand in the rain and wind from 16h00 to 16h30 before giving up and going home. Both other bus companies again had several collections during this time.
Sfter the trip I sent an email to the company and received an automated reply that they would look into it and be in touch. I've heard nothing so they're obviously not all that fussed. This review is the result of that.
Go with someone else and I'm sorry to say, don't chance it with the Original Tour..
Once we got going, the first part of the tour was sort of OK but the tape recorded audio guide was not fully co-ordinated with the distance travelled and also didn't say which side of the bus certain sights were on, ie left or right, so sights were often missed. The commentary on the bus showed up how bad the one on the bus is.

Went on three buses, on one the audio guide did not work, after a while a live guide started talking, unfortunately impossible to hear. Traffic made the bus a poor tranport option, the guiding was good, when working, but it is not posssible to use the bus for transportation between sightseeings, waste of time.
In addition, the selling staff at Hyde park were too intense in my opinion, like being in a totally different country.
I like the bus guide idea as it gives a quick overview of a city, but is it good for the Environment and the traffic situation to drive almost empty busses around the city?

We have been 3 years in a row. Both other years were amazing! This year we was made to sit under cover on the top deck, so no open top roof, which is what we payed for. I was 8 rows away from my 6 year old kids, the mic man stank to hug heaven of wee!! All in all take a number 8 up the road on a Oyster card much cheaper n smell free!! Have contacted the customer service and they have refused to do anything about it. I didn’t not even get to spend the experience with my kids!! Absolute waste of time and money.

Hello Natty2020x,
Thank you for your review.
As mentioned in emails from our Customer Service Team, your group were the last to arrive which is why we were unable to seat you altogether. We do express on our website and on our vouchers that all seating is on a first come first served basis.
You and your group were offered the option to have your tour refunded however you all decided to travel on board the Christmas Lights Tour, after witholding our bus from leaving at its sheduled time and the time spent sharing your dissapointment with our staff who cited your group as rude and intimidating.
Once again I am sorry to have read your comments regarding our tour guide on your date of travel which we take issue with, especially as this guide had received many positive reviews for the same tour. We have also to date recieved no complaints regarding their personal hygiene as you mentioned into disrespute.
We really appreciate all customer feedback and will use it to continue improving our service, where possible.

So so disappointed, first time into London since before Covid and we were looking forward to catching our tour bus up to the Natural History Museum. I wish I hadn’t paid £71 and bothered, when we did get on a bus, the commentary was 90% music 10% useless anecdotes about Brexit, the cost of British private schools (???) and an Oyster card. No historical info whatsoever. When we did get to the bus stop we wanted, we waited 40mins for a driver training bus to go past (ended up getting a cab) and when we went to try again after the museum, the app said no more busses running on the blue line today (at 2:30pm)????
Such an utter shambles and such a shame, I have contacted customer services but will wait to see if they respond.

We booked tickets using Tesco Clubcard which made it excellent value for money. We had a 24 hour ticket and manly did the yellow route which took us to all the main tourist attractions. We switched over to the blue route to go to Harrods. The river cruise was a highlight for the children with the guide on board the boat being both humorous and informative. We did have to wait at some stops but I would say it was generally within the stated time scale of 5-20 minutes in fairness. The audio guide was clear and concise - we preferred this to the on board guides in all honesty. Drivers in general were OK but not particularly engaging. Still a great way to see the sights and get our bearings for the remainder of our visit.

What an utter load of rubbish! Seems to be a common review with this company now! One of the stops was closed and was not shown on the app map. So like muppets stood out in the rain for 40 mins waiting for the bus!! We then see it and its cuts the corner straight past us! We then walked up to the next stop, bearing in mind we had two youngsters with us, trying to get the next one where the app said the bus was en route to! And as we were walking up the street its coming towards us!! BUT THE APP SAID IT WAS NEAR THE STOP!!! Luckily i had the sense to wave frantically and flag it down and luckily the driver was courteous enough to stop and let us on! To which we were greeted with no guide! No info! Where we were going! The timing was so awful we missed the river cruise and didnt even do the blue route!!! So £77 do be driven round sights we saw for about 30seconds, no river cruise, one route only and a shoddy app that even made siri maps look half decent!! I will be seeking compensation and will take further if needs be. Absolutely ruined the day i will never return or recommend. And if you are reading this review just get a london bus day pass or the equivalent and hop on and off ones that run reliably and every like every 5 mins at a fraction of the cost!

Well organised and set out. We had two tour guides, Cliff was head and shoulders better than any tour guide I’ve experienced before - his knowledge of the city was quite frankly unbelievable. Roland, who was driving, paced the speed just right too enabling us to get a great view of the major sites. Our second tour team for the final part of the trip didn’t live up to the first duo we experienced, however luckily we were with Cliff and Roland for the majority of the way. Thank you guys for making our daughters first trip to London so special!

We love an open top bus as a way to start our stay in any big city as it offers a flavour of the sights, the opportunity to hop off and visit them and allows us to get a feel for the city. The commentary from all the guides was excellent and very interesting. River cruise was a bonus. Would highly recommend especially for first time visitors to London.

Didn't take us to the last location Covent Garden which was the whole point of booking as said tour ends at 6. Got on at Paddington and was stuck on it over a hour as traffic not moving. Nothing to see on blue line. Left at least 1/2 hour at stops. Waste of time. Also reject first price they knock the price down 20 percent straight away. Wouldn't use them again.

What a dreadful experience. We bought our tickets and waited about 20 for the yellow line bus to arrive, saw so many of the other company buses go past in that time but was too late to change.
They changed the drop off point for Buckingham palace with no advice, so it was a much further walk than was expected. The other companies were stopping at the spot that we were meant to.
We walked to Hyde park corner to swap to the blue line but none of the stops were marked with the company name, so we had no idea where to get on the bus. It was ridiculously signage.
Then after walking around for 30 minute we finally saw a toot bus and changed it down.
It was pouring outside, so we thought the bus we could get dry, but no, the bus was leaking down the walls, through the floor. It was unacceptable. We were getting soaked on the inside of the bus. We mentioned it to the driver and he said that most of there buses were just as bad.
So we got off to wait for the rain to stop. When the rain stopped we then waited for 50 minutes for another bus to turn up, and it just didn’t show. So we gave up and caught the train home.
What a terrible experience, a waste of money and our valuable time as we only had a few days in London. So so disappointed.

Dear ladypanda,
Thank you for your review. I am really sorry to hear about your experience.
Our Yellow route runs every 10-15 minutes and every 20-40 minutes on Blue. I apologise if there were any delays caused by traffic.
Our stop at Buckingham Palace is currently closed due to construction works, where information is available on our website.
All of our stops are marked with Tootbus name on top of the sign including at Hyde Park, however it is a busy stop served by many different companies.
I apologise for any inconvinience due to weather. Please be assured our buses are checked everyday.
We don't want our customers to feel dissatisfied. Please contact us directly at customerservice-london@tootbus.com to help us rectify the situation for you.

They have an app that shows buses in real time. App says they operate 8:30 am - 4 pm. We wanted to pick up a bus on Gloucester Rd on the blue line and waited 1h15 and never saw a bus on the blue route at all. Decided to catch tube and go downtown where we picked up a bus near Victoria Station. They say they start at 8:30 am but my experience was they only start downtown at 8:30 am. Other companies had buses stopping at Gloucester Rd from 8:30 am onwards, just not Tootbus.

Hi all booked my ticket to get on the yellow bus tomorrow 19th August but the information seems very contradictory one page says there are several stops another page says 9 stops does anyone know what it is that has been on this month? Also any idea on timetable I have tried to ring for over an hour but no answer and then it changed to the we are closed message which again contradicts the website any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated

Hello, Julie,
The Hop-on Hop-off bus that we used gave each passenger a complimentary map of stops, and there was an audio guide option with complimentary earphones (which were sturdy enough to keep and use on the plane). We found this bus to be an economical, efficient way to see many London highlights. I hope you have fun!

Is there a stop near Liverpool street station?

I’m not sure where Liverpool Street is. I suggest your contact the tour company directly or maybe there is a tour map on the website. They have at least two different tours plus a very nice Thames River cruise.

What is the closest stop for the Hop-on Hop-off Bus to St Pancras International rail station?
We found a Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour called Golden Tours (blue bus) right outside the front entrance of the station. Has different bus routes to see all the different sites in London! Well worth it and saved us using the metro or other trains to get around London.

They start early and run all day till early evening. You can google the timetable which will be more specific for you based on the route you wish to take. Have a great time

How do I purchase a pass for a flexible date?

You can buy them online and it will be only effective at them moment you jump on the first bus. said so, I would suggest not to waste your time. Most disappointing experience ever: waiting in bus stops for half hour, routes altered with no advice and/or ending too early. No buses from 4:30 pm, poor audio guides, earphones broken, no live guides, no sits available...complete disaster.
