South Downs and Seven Sisters Half-Day Small-Group Tour from Brighton
US$58,40
Overview
Discover England's picturesque South Downs without the hassle of public transport with this day trip from Brighton. The convenient small-group trip, which is limited to just six people, showcases the highlights of a hilly region that's difficult to navigate without a car. You'll admire views from Devil's Dyke, visit Middle Farm, and spot Neolithic carvings in the Seven Sisters Country Park—all with commentary from a driver-guide.
What to Expect
Leave Brighton and travel north to the South Downs by minivan. As you travel, you'll see the gentle chalk hills that line the route to Devil's Dyke. Hop out at the viewpoint, and cast your gaze over one of Britain's deepest valleys as your guide explains the terrain.

Continue to the generations-old Middle Farm, a family-run enterprise that sells local Sussex meat, cheese, and sparkling wine. Use your time to stock up on goodies or visit the on-site café for coffee.

The next stop is the white chalk cliffs known as the Seven Sisters. Pass the Neolithic "hill figure" known as the Long Man of Wilmington, stop at Seaford Head for photo-worthy views, and enjoy a circular walk that takes in sweeping vistas of the cliffs.

The journey back to Brighton includes a final stop at the gardens of Rudyard Kipling in Rottingdean before you return to the starting point.

A Great Day in the Downs

We had a great time on this tour. Lawrence was a knowledgeable tour guide who made the day flow seamlessly. The beach view of the Seven Sisters is unparalleled and the tour was well paced.

Amazing small group tour!

I booked this half-day (6-hour) excursion from Brighton with low-ish expectations—I thought we'd drive out to see some white cliffs, get some nice photos, and that would be it. My expectations were blown out of the water! Lawrence is a great tour guide—very knowledgeable, super-approachable,...More

Near Jury’s Inn, across the street at the car park. However, Lawrence picked us up in front of Jury’s Inn. Have fun!

No, normal walking distance (~4,5 miles), and there are breaks throughout the trip so it’s not stressful at all.
