- Pass byCape Town Central
- 1Pick up at accommodation in Cape Town. You will receive a shared transfer from your hotel in Cape Town to the Silo District where you will be escorted to the Nelson Mandela Gateway. Here you will charter a shared to Robben Island museum where you will be met by a former political prisoner who will conduct the tour of the Island. (Please note that our tour guide/driver will not be joining you on the tour of the Robben Island museum.) The entire tour lasts +-4 hours which includes hotel pick up. For part of the tour, you will be transported around the island by bus, before you visit the prison cell of Nelson Mandela and take the long walk to freedom. He was very knowledgeable about the area and was lovely to chat with. He gave us good recommendations for lunch as well as how to best navigate the hiking trails at Cape of Good Hope. Not only did he show me the stunning scenery he shared his experience of post apartheid South Africa in a very personal way. I probably learned more from him than I did during the rest of my holiday. This “tour” is a resell of a tour that can be purchased directly from robben island’s website for $35. This “guide” buys you the $35 ticket, keeps the remainder as a 200% profit sends you on your way and goes home. Paying $200 for 2 tickets when you can get them directly for $70 on site or on the robben island website is hilarious.

This Robbin Island trip was absolutely phenomenal. We were a group of friends. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very informative about this Historical place and also had an amazing sense of humor which made us feel welcomed and comfortable asking questions. He brought the history to Life. Sad stories though what they went through.
I would Highly recommend them as you would definitely get good value for your money. Kudos to the Tour Guide for the incredible service .

We enjoyed this tour and learned a lot from the time the boat ride started, until the end when we returned on the boat. The extra-prisoners giving the tours and sharing their personal experiences truly adds a compelling element to the experience. We recommend this tour!

We pre-booked tickets to Robben Island and prison tour including pick up and drop off. Ivan was our guide and he was great from beginning to end. Polite, friendly and really good fun. We did the tour at Robben Island which is actually a different guide to Ivan but after we arrived back Ivan was ready and waiting to hear all about it and to take us back to the hotel. we told him we wanted to see some other places so he took us around Bo kaap, signal hill, camps bay and many other interesting parts of Cape Town. We learned so much from him and although it was a rainy day, his sunny smile and friendly way made it all worth while.

The Peninsula Tour was an amazing way to view some of the most beautiful scenery and wildlife that Cape Town has to offer. After 3 people dropped out we had a small group attend which made for a very personal tour on the day. Our guide T was really friendly and informative, making sure that all our queries were answered (including great food and drink tips!) and that we had a really enjoyable experience. Bobby was great also in driving us to each stop on the tour. Particular highlights were the boat trip to seal island, the penguins on Boulder Beach and walk at Cape Point. A brilliant way to spend a day touring Cape Town!

Tour included a Friendly hotel pick up and drop off at the ferry by Ivan to Robben Island and Return. Ounce there we boarded a bus for a tour of the Island and the tour of the prison was by a former inmate. I learned so much with first hand knowledge

Ivan was great! Got us to the pier to get on the ferry and back..as well as show us around the area. One thing that impressed me is that he waited for us for when the tour was over!

I booked the Robben Island Tour & was saddened when it was cancelled because of the sea waves & turbulence. Ivan quickly made other arrangements and provided a City & Table Mountain Tour instead. It was a wonderful day. I highly recommend this company.

We had Ivan as our driver for the Robben Island Tour taking us from our accommodation to and from the V&A. Ivan is a fantastic, warm guy and was really interesting to talk to. He arrived on time and was waiting for us on departure, highly recommend. Thank you Ivan.
