Amazing Street Art Tour
Sep 2021
I had a wonderful time on my street art tour of Salt River. I learned about the community and the artwork with Sipho, more than I ever would have learned on my own. It is also nice that he knows the community members and their stories, while also leading International Public Art Festival tours. It felt like I was walking around with a friend who I've known for a while. Sipho also had great ideas for pictures! I will definitely do another tour with One Day Africa.

Unique & beautiful opportunity to see a different side of Capetown
Jun 2021 • Friends
Such an incredibly unique opportunity to gain insight into Capetown’s historic Salt River district. Our tour started at a cafe and from there we explored the quiet neighborhood, revealing an incredible collection of street art created by both international and local artists over the past few year as part of an international art festival held annually in Capetown.

Siphon, our guide and photographer, was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the neighborhood and the art. He shared the story behind of each work of art, its artist(s) and the connection to the theme of respective year’s art festival theme. His passion and connection to the community, it’s people and art was contagious as he shared his knowledge and positive outlook on how art is transforming the city.

This tour was a favorite for both my mother and I during our 5 days in Capetown and I would highly recommend!!

Outstanding and Memorable Graffitti
Apr 2021 • Friends
The graffiti walk was outstanding and unique. The colours, the energy, the art, the suburb, the people, the food smells and of course our guide, Sipho who was bubbling with excitement to show and explain the artwork. Sipho is extremely knowledgeable, patient and highly recommended for this tour. Excellent for groups and couples wanting to see graffiti art at it's best.

Unique art experience
Apr 2021
Sipho, the tour guide, is really friendly and funny. He welcomed me and we a great time walking around the streets of Salt River. A very traditional community and residential area that hides beautiful art pieces on the walls.

Sipho's very passionate about what he does and has deep knowledge about the history behind the murals. He explained the details about the artists - many international and many SA born - responsible for the murals and we had very interesting discussions about their meaning with their art pieces.

I deeply recommend this tour. It's a hidden part of Cape Town that most tourists don't get to know but it's totally worth it.
