    Great day and amazing wine!
We had an amazing day on the tour as part of our honeymoon. The tour guide was great, and the wine throughout the day was amazing, as was the scenery. Highly recommend!

    Do this tour!!!!
Despite some cloudy weather, Brahn was a total delight as our tour guide as we visited 3 different vineyards outside of Cape Town. A definite definite must to do even if you not a drink. The scenery is spectacular. This was a great, fun experience and a a solo traveler, you will meet cool people. The bus was high end and super comfy. 5 stars baby!

    Recommended - fun and enjoyable
I would recommend giving the wine tour a try! We had a great day despite the rainy weather. Our guide made it very enjoyable and was funny. Which made you forget about the weather. I would recommend that they look into the last wine farm on the tour. I think there may be better options to end off the great tour, give. The vast options . Other than that - well worth the money.

    Amazing trip to Hermanus!
We had a great day with our tourguide Luis! Even though I couldn’t book the whale watching tour online, Luis made it possible! We saw lots of whales which was amazing! Going back to cape town on the coastal road with the soft evening light was so beautiful !

We booked a day long tour on the hop on hop off bus, only the hop ON option was non existent. Twice on our route the bus simply drove past us without stopping to give us a chance to get on. We were stranded at a winery and had to Uber to our next winery since the bus didn’t bother to stop to pick us up. Lastly, at the final stop at Groot Constancia, we were waiting on the last bus to pick us up at 17.11. The bus came much later and also my husband had to stand in the middle of the road to ensure the bus actually stops to pick us up as they past us before twice without stopping.
The bus stopped when they saw my husband standing in the road, and just when we thought the bus stopped to finally pick us up, the driver did not bother opening the door and kept driving as if he didn’t even see us. I was waving our tickets to make sure he saw we had tix to board the bus.
This service is unacceptable and absolutely not worth the money. We could have Ubered for a lot less and had a much better service. Absolutely do not recommend, abysmal service.

Thank you for your review which is somewhat misleading. You clearly made your own way to the Constantia wine region and by your own account "our final stop at Groot Constantia" suggests that you tried to join the tour backwards. Our marketing material is very clear in suggesting that you join our tour in the City and furthermore clearly shows that Groot Constantia is the first of 3 stops in the Constantia valley. Our bus stop at Groot Constantia (and all others) are very clearly branded and marked. Given that you arrived by Uber I can only imagine that you were dropped at the satellite wine tasting center near the front gate, which means you missed 90% of the Groot Constantia estate. I can understand that your husband would have stood in the road to try and stop our tour as this is nowhere near our route. We stop only where it is safe to do so (as our demarcated bus stops) - we generally don't stop in the middle of the road. I am sorry you felt you got less that you bargained with but can only suggest to readers that you: 1) Join the tour at the V&A or in the City (not at one of the wine stops). All included in 1 ticket! 2) You ensure you come to a branded bus stop - we don't stop illegally in the middle of the road. 3) Please check our route map and timetable which clearly shows the order of bus stops. We carry many very happy passengers who all manage to understand how the system works. Hopefully we can welcome you back one day soon and you too may find it very enjoyable.

My wife and I took the 1-day ticket for the Red Bus Cape Town tours, including the possibility of all the routes (red, blue, yellow and purple), depending on how much you get off and on again, and how long you spend at the stops. We bought our tickets at the Waterfront starting point because there is no way of getting a pensioner's discount (50%) when buying online as far as I could find. Very good and interesting information is given via earphones as you travel, although it is not always so clear whether you are at some of the minor stops or still approaching it, so you may miss some of them. We did the blue route first, including the purple route, then back to the starting point. Since it was then about 13:30 after a light lunch at the Waterfront, we then did the red route, including the yellow route -- no extra payment, your ticket is really valid for the full day. It is important to know that although you may get off the bus at all the stops, you may be charged when doing a tour, entering, taking a trip or whatever is available at that stop. But there are many stops where you can walk around and check everything without extra costs. As can be expected, much information was given regarding the bad treatment of people during the apartheid history of South Africa. Nothing is said about the current failure of the government in many cases to improve the living conditions of thousands of South Africans of all people groups. The contrast between the poor and the rich is starkly demonstrated during the tours, and it might be that the blame is indirectly put on the rich for not directly helping the poor to a greater degree, but the very important role of the government in their (some good and some bad) policies is not mentioned sufficiently. This lack of a balanced perspective can be understood from a marketing point of view, but for locals leaves one with a somewhat unsatisfactory feeling. Overall, it is a very good and interesting tour, and is highly recommended.

We recently went on the Blue (Mini Peninsula) route tour of Cape Town and I have to say that we both thought that it was extremely good value for money. We started and ended our tour at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. On the way we stopped at the World of Birds Park, Hout Bay and the V & A along with various other stops. The whole tour took about 2 hours and we can thoroughly recommend it. Don't forget to take photos on the way.

We visited Cape Town to watch the cricket but our first full day meant we searched the Red sightseeing bus. We walked to the starting point via Waterfront. It was a hot day but we chose to go only on the Peninsula tour which lasted a good 2.5 hours. We had a planned trip up to table mountain the following day so no need to that trip. We have been on many red bus tours throughout the world but to be honest this was one of the best for value and sights. You get a fantastic insight into The different parts of Cape Town without even getting off the bus. Excellent value for money and if you do hop off there were plenty of buses as they go every 20 minutes. The bus was fairly full upstairs but you still get a seat to see everything and take photos. The route takes you not only to the inside but also the suburbs. Be careful of the heat as I had a sore forehead after the trip, it was difficult to wear a hat as it was windy at times. Excellent trip

We only had two free days in Cape Town and our two day ticket allowed us to see most of the sights without stress! We first did the mini peninsula tour which allowed us to visit the Kirstenbosch gardens, enjoy the scenery of the wine route, and to stop off on the coast. Our second day we took the bus up to the cable car for Table mountain and then did the route around the city, stopping to visit the South Africa museum with its amazing displays of dinosaurs, sharks etc and the nearby Company’s gardens. We could then link to the bus that took us along the coast again to stop off at a beach. Finally we enjoyed a Harbour cruise. We found the commentary excellent and the staff at the ticket office extremely helpful .

The red and the blue line are pretty good organized. The commentary is quite informing but often it is not really synchronized with what you can actually seen at the moment.
The Canal Tour is okayish. Not really worth the money. You go nearly the same way forth and back.
The sunset tour was a disaster, you had to be back at the bus 3 minutes after sunset because otherwise the would leave. Problem was in both busses there were people missing. So both busses waited for 25 Minutes for the passengers who then still didn't show up. We arrived back at Stop 1 so late that everybody had to take a taxiand that's when the taxi drivers really rip you off.

I am not normally a fan of hop on hop off buses, but a 2 day ticket in Cape Town is great value. There are 4 different routes and you can interchange between them. You can either just take a full circular tour or if you plan well can go from one attraction to another without spending to much time on the bus. There are excellent informative recordings through a multi language earpiece that you are given with your ticket and map/ timetable. There is little advantage of buying in advance out of season.

We purchased the 2-day pass for the Hop On Hop Off Sightseeing bus and got on all four routes over 2 days. Each route offers something different, but there is also significant overlap with the red and blue routes. Also some overlap with the yellow route and no overlap with the purple route. If you only have time for one route, I would recommend the red route. Somewhat disappointed that we were not able to get the 10% discount from a previous tour in Johannesburg, but nevertheless, it was still good value for money. The outlet at the Cruise Ship terminal would not honour the discount and we were advised to go to the office at the V&A Waterfront (which we did not do). The buses are comfortable, but beware of the front seat at the top, which does not provide a lot of leg room on some of the buses. Beware also that the routes only go in one direction, so if you want to back track, you have to cover the entire route to return to your previous stop. Overall, the experience and sights are well worth the price of admission.

My friend and I completed a free city walking tour (unfortunately, I can't remember our guides name) in December 2021, due to COVID and tourism being low we were the only guests! Our guide went above and beyond as we got there a bit late and he was about to leave but then happily took us on our tour and even spent more time with us than was expected. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour as we had spent quite a bit of time walking around the city on our own and would NEVER have found all the hidden artifacts and historical sites without having a guide. Very thorough, informational and our guide was born and raised in South Africa and participated in the anti apartheid protests and able to provide many personal insights into the history and current state of the country. There is definitely something for everyone in this one.

Awefull experience. We payed the tour in our honey moon, they obligate us to seat in the back were our seats were in bad conditions and the extractor of the bus didn’t let us hear anything of the tour. The other option that they gave us was to seat separately.

I will never make a tour with this company again.
