Overview
Called "One of Toronto's Top 10 Walking Tours" in 2018 by BlogTO, join us year-round for the story of the Gooderham and Worts Distillery's rise to fame and transformation into the modern Distillery District.

You'll love our expert guides interpretation of a drunk city, business intrigue and how Gooderham and Worts became the world's largest distillery. Along the way we'll show you some of the best secret Distillery District spots and photo locations. The cherry on top? Your guide will take you for a small complimentary tasting of 1 chocolate and up to 3 beer samples at the end of your tour. History, chocolate and beer? Heck yes, you need to take this tour.

Note: Your tour guide can follow a fully accessible route upon request.
Highlights
  • Distillery District walking tour: Avoid the hassle of navigating on your own
  • Guide ensures you see unmarked points of interest and architectural gems
  • Chocolate and beer tastings at Soma and Mill St. Brewery
  • Learn about the neighborhood’s past tenant, a massive whiskey distillery
What to Expect
Meet your guide in the heart of Toronto’s Distillery District. As you walk through the cobblestone streets, listen to anecdotes about the area’s history, often missing in guidebooks. Break up the tour with a chocolate tasting at Soma Chocolate and local beer at the iconic Mill St. Brewery—recommendations are provided at each of these highly-rated establishments. Your guide points out examples of the area’s Victorian Industrial style of architecture and other important landmarks, many of which are unmarked and easy to miss. Part ways with your guide with a new perspective on the neighborhood and enough time left in the day to explore further on your own.

Our guide was well informed and provided an enjoyable tour. It turned out to be primarily a history lesson about the distillery.

We had Michelle as our tour guide and she is wonderful. We learned the interesting history of the distillery district and about what it is today. Great tour that ends with beer!
