We booked an excursion for 2 couples and all
decided this was the best buggy tour we’ve done. The tour takes you through the jungle which is exactly what we hoped for. We stopped at a very private cenote where the tour guide shared details of the Mayan culture while we enjoyed a swim. The guides were so attentive and genuinely making efforts to ensure all were enjoying themselves, from those who were hesitant to get in the water to those who repeatedly wanted to dive from the highest point. We later stopped by a village to meet the locals. We were told in advance that there was absolutely no obligation to buy/offer anything to the village or its residents. I am big on donating and volunteering so this was a nice touch in my opinion. We bought a $5 bag of groceries and personally gave it to a resident of the visited village. Before ending the excursion we stopped by a local’s home to eat some delicious empanadas. The tour guides were extremely personable with us and made all efforts so that we all had a fun experience. You’ll find many options for excursions like these, but the guides have an excellent quality of service that makes them stand way above other competitors.

We had such a great time on this tour . Highlight for us was stopping at the village and seeing how this community is living in the jungle . You will leave feeling blessed and grateful for what we all take for granted Beautiful people and a smile on everyone’s face and the children are just beautiful. Please take $5.00 or even more with you. This donation of 5.00 will buy a sack of groceries that you hand out to the people that line up on the street. 5.00 does buy a lot We were severed homemade donuts and koolaid from the village before we took off for our drive back . Cenote was neat and is used by the locals. You can swim in it if you want Our tour guides were just awesome and very knowledgeable we had a great time. I’m glad we choose to take a road less traveled to see how this village is living in the jungle Jenny miller

We had an amazing time on our tour with Abraham and our Belgium tour guy.(sorry don’t know how to spell his name) They were very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole experience. When at the Cenote, they performed a spiritual ritual before we swam. They even cheered my kids on to assist them to be brave to cliff jump. After the Cenote , we went to a small Mayan village and were able to buy donations for the people whom lived there. This whole experience was spiritual and we felt privileged to be able to give back on our vacation during the tour. We highly recommend this tour to anyone that wants to have an authentic experience.

It should be called drive around a poor Playa Del Carman village for 1.5 hours going 5 mph.
We took another buggy tour a few years ago in Playa Del Carmen and it was much much better
You start by driving on an old paved road for 15 minutes until you reach a local village where your asked for $5 to donate food. There are no shops where locals sell sovereigns only people asking for money.
You drive around this town for 1.5 hours, stopping to buy $5 of food to donate and then drive in a big circle on an old road with cars to stop and give the food to locals
You then drive to the end of the village for non-bottled water and no where to buy any snacks or drinks, just the local tap water
Then you drive in the jungle for 15 minutes to the cenote and spend 30 minutes there before driving back 15 minutes to end the tour
It should be called Tour an old town on roads where people will beg for money while you drive 5 mph
Take another tour this is horrible - there is no jungle in this jungle tour

skip this guy, our tour is as described, first of all you will leave our departure base and have a 45 minutes drive to the village, once arriving in the village of course we do not go faster then 5 mph arriving in the village unless you want to crash a child in that village.
we do not drive one and a half hour around this village , once we visited the village we head to the cenote another 45 minutes drive, and yes in the jungle.
the snack is offered in the village by a mayan family, and yes there are shops to buy your drinks, what you do not need to do because the drinks are offered by our guides and the mayan family.
Anyway you may not like our tour but this does not allow you to write a compleet wrong description of our tour and as you wrote the other buggy compagny goes since years to the same cenote we go to, and we use the same trails to go there.
take another vacation and enjoy
cheers

As someone who has lived in fear and seclusion from fast motorized vehicles, I was not happy when my family booked this tour behind my back just days after my 19th birthday. There were so many better things I would rather have, such as: a lustful naked beach massage, an unlimited supply of Miami Vices (double shot), or an all inclusive bird watching experience. It was clear that this was the last thing I wanted.
While I had my intial reservations about the buggy tour, it certainly exceeded my expectations. Our tour guides, although I can’t remember their names, were some of best I’ve ever had on any excursion. They prepped us sufficiently for the heap of dust that skidded onto our faces during the buggy ride and also managed to keep their cool even after a slightly psychotic woman on our trip managed to record them EVERY time they opened their mouth to speak. They also took us to a natural cenote where one of our tour guides flexed his masculinity, jumping from an impressive fifteen foot cliff, impressing the gorgeous eighteen-year-old girl on our trip. I, on the other hand, did not jump off this cliff. Although I still managed to get her number so it looks like the jokes on him. To culminate our experience, our guides took us to a Mayan village in which they allowed us to give back to those less fortunate and enjoy local Mayan cuisine. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a good time. Just think, they even impressed the stubborn man with a aversion to having fun.

BOOK THIS TOUR!!!!!!! This was our second time to do this tour and it was even better than before if that was even possible. This tour checked the box for entertaining 2 teenage boys by letting them drive dune buggies and for a swim in the cenote for our younger son. The driving of the buggies is quite a trip, first stop is like 45 minutes away which was awesome for by 16 and 19 year old. They each had their own buggy because we went on a Monday. The cenote was relaxing and so neat to experience. Then another 30 minute drive to the village to buy food ($5 USD per bag) and hand out to the community, then a very delicious snack at a local woman's house. Then another 40 minutes back to home base. Well worth the money because of the activities and the time spent in the buggies. They also have a family buggy that seats 4 for those larger families.

This was an incredible and unforgetable experience, JP and Abraham made the trip one to remember!!! the buggys are top notch, you really get the thrill and speed riding the trails and mud puddles in the jungle!!
The cenote is a great pitstop to freshen up and for the brave do a little high diving of the ridges accompanied by JP, Abraham’s short mayan ceremony at the cenite was amazing!!
The best and most important part is the way this asociation gives back to the local empoverished communities that are living in the jungle.
By including the villages in the tour it gives the tourists the opportunity to see how these people live just a stones throw away from the multimillion dollar resorts and offer a helping hand by way of preorganised food hampers (5dollars a bag).
It is totally optional but i would highly recommend supporting their work and offering just a little charity to the communities and children.
I would definately reccomend this trip to people of all ages, its very easy going and extremely rewarding…I will definately rebook in future!!!!!
JP and Abraham please continue the amazing work you do as the kids faces when the buggys roll into the villages are priceless!!!

Out of our five day trip to Riviera Maya, this was by far our favorite experience. We booked transportation through someone else as they do not have transportation so keep that in mind! Also, be aware the location isn’t in the tourist area so it may seem a little strange. Do NOT let this scare you off.
Jean Pierre was our tour guide and he was amazing! He’s entertaining and also knows about the area. You start off on the buggy’s going on trails through the jungle. Eventually you end up at a breath taking Cenote (I forgot the name of it because I was too enamored by the beauty of it). We had ample time to swim, and “cliff dive.” After seeing this amazing view, you’ll get back to the buggys and go to the Mayan village. You drive through and immediately see the children who were thrilled to see Jean Pierre. You’ll be lead to the tiny “store” of the village where you can buy groceries for the villagers. It’s overwhelming, and eye opening to see the line develop to receive the blessings. A village woman named Augustine made us some delicious Empanadas, and we were able to offer additional help by purchasing hand made bracelets. You’ll then take the buggy back to the start.
Notes: there are bathrooms in the beginning, but once you start your adventure, you’ll only have the jungle! Also, I recommend bringing a set of dry clothes to change into at the end of the tour. You will get your starter clothes dirty, and wet after putting them back in over your suit.

This excursion was nothing short of amazing! If you are looking for an authentic Mayan experience this is it. Abraham & John Pier (I hope I spelled his name right) were very knowledgeable, fun & passionate about what they do. The cenote was beautiful, but my favorite part was the Mayan village. It absolutely humbles you & makes you realize all the small things we complain about back home are so minuscule. If you can go to the store beforehand and get things for the kids there like toys , candy, hair brushes, crayons or coloring books. A woman & her family that we were on the tour with did this and the kids were so excited. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive , they were happy with the smallest of things. Also there is a part where you can buy a grocery bag full of necessities for the families of the village for only $5, please please if you can buy as many as you can. The more you can purchase the more each household gets. Lastly we ended with some amazing empanadas from Augustina! They were delicious. Oh & also they provide you with videos & photos from Johns go pro about 3 days after the tour for FREE!! Again amazing tour & I would do it all again!

What a fun adventure! We had the best day spent exploring the jungle & riding through mud puddles & bumpy terrain. Our guides were fun & paid attention to details & safety. We got lots of great photos. We took a backpack with towels and water shoes for the cenote and were able to strap the bag to the back of the buggy. Buggy was spacious! We were impressed that our group was diverse and the guides spoke English, Spanish & French.
The visit to the village was great. The kids were giving us high fives & loved the candy we bought them. $5 USD will buy enough for each to have a piece (gum, lollipop, big marshmallow). Our group bought bags of groceries and were able to provide each family with a bag. Lunch was a delicious snack of two cheese quesadillas made with homemade corn tortillas and fresh juice at a very welcoming home (outdoor patio).
The cenote was cool and very secluded. The guides brought life jackets if requested and provided goggles. They took lots of photos for us.
Make sure to wear good shoes for walking in the jungle. It was about a 5 minute walk to get to the cenote. The ground was rocky & steep in some areas (trees you can hold on to for support). Definitely tennis shoes or something with grip!
Great day & fun times! Highly suggest booking this tour.

Are you allowed to drive at a pretty face pace or are you just putting along in a line?
You go pretty fast at many parts, but you must follow the convoy. They are paths and worn roads that are fun because of how bumpy they are but there isn’t a part to “run free”.
We are staying at a hotel in Cancun but would like to go on this excursion. Do you offer transportation from Cancun or have any suggestions on how to get there?
Are the Vans that they use to pick you up in good condition? Do they have the company logo on them?

The vans are in great condition and they don't have logos on them But the driver when he arrives he will ask for the name on the reservation log.
They are polite and professional.
I've been with them for 6 years booking my clients tour with them.
It's the best tour
About how far is the total buggy ride? Is it 18 miles?
Stacey L

I am not certain the total distance. Their information lists you drive 3 miles before you reach the jungle roads, then we explored those the rest of the time. It was bumpy terrain in several areas and we splashed through a lot of mud puddles. Super fun! The entire tour is 3.5-4 hours.

Can anyone tell me which cenote they take you too and are life jackets available as I am not a confident swimmer.

It’s a private cenote I would estimate 1/2 mile into the jungle. But very clean and well maintained by them. They provide life jackets

I don’t think this is true. Check out their website (buggytourplayadelcarmen) and send a message via what’s app for the quickest response (info on top of website page). We visited mid December and this business was thriving. I also see recently uploaded photos on their website from tours. They upload a batch of photos every two weeks or so.

We are staying at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa Resort. I do not see it on your list of pick ups. I also noticed the buggy location is 21 miles from our resort. Is there away for us to still do the tour and is it worth it for that far of a transport?
